  1. I cut this lighthouse pic for a co-worker, and this is what he gave me in return. Oh sooooo worth it!
  2. Well done. That's exactly how I got hooked on scrolling portraits. I tried one of my grandson, and it turned out nice. Ever since then, I have been addicted and loving it.
  3. I just posted the pattern in SSV (new patterns), if anyone is interested.
  4. I just finished cutting the "2 Mustangs". I made the pattern from a photo I found online. I haven't sanded, stained or finished it yet. I just stuck it in a frame to get this photo.
  5. I have an update for this project. I was perfectly happy leaving the sky as I originally cut it, after all of you told me to leave it alone. I sat back, had a beer and let it be. Then wife looks at it and says, "the sky needs something". Well as you all know, that's all it takes to make you fire up the saw and do what you can to please her. Soooooooooooo..........here's the updated version.
  6. Len, I posted this pattern here for the group.
  7. Nice job!!! I am honored that you cut my pattern. This is a first (that I know of) for me. Keep up the great work.
  8. I'm not quite done with the Mach 1, but I couldn't help sharing this project. I'm kinda liking it so far.
  9. Thanks, but I'm not Dave.
  10. I used spiral blade for all except the lighthouse.
  11. You are right about the clouds on the right. It does look like a hill, and I kinda like it that way.
  12. I made this pattern from a photo I found online. No stain or finish yet. I'm don't really like the way the clouds look, so I might do some more cutting. Feedback please.
  13. Simply beautiful. You did an excellent job with the cut and the finish!
  14. Yes. I just added the pattern to the main post. Glad you like it. Let me know if you cut it.
  15. I finished cutting the duck picture. Still needs sanding and varnish. Pattern took about an hour to make on GIMP 2. Cutting took about ten hours. Baltic birch, 1/4", 8 x 10".
  16. beautiful and impressive.
  17. Very nice cutting and designs. How long did each one take you?
  18. Work in progress....I have only cut the duck so far. I plan to add a water scene to it. I made the pattern from the photo. The woodcut is reversed to show my progress. This is the flip-side of the wood.
  19. Still beautiful. No harm done at all, but nice of you to update us.
  20. I can't imagine how the other one could have been better than this one you made. Excellent!
  21. You are so right about this. Thanks for expressing in words what we all feel.
  22. I think I've lived through all of these...slow learner...I just keep scrolling.
  23. My supervisor commissioned me to cut a portrait for her. Here's the updated portrait final cut. Wood is still wet from the glue removal. Needs sanding, stain (or not) and varnish.
  24. Follow-up photo
