  1. Beautiful!. What a great way to make your "come back". Now keep cutting.
  2. Both are useful and creative ideas. I can see these becoming hot items in high demand. Nice work!
  3. What, no apps? Ha ha....or should I say hee haw...
  4. Joe, this is really nice work. I have always used Deft Semi-gloss Clear Wood Finish (brush on), and I am very pleased with the results. Stain is a matter of personal preference. Be sure you test some colors on a scrap piece of the same wood. Different woods take on stain differently.
  5. G.Jim...as a former dentist, I got used to using magnifying loupes for intricate work. I rely on them as I'm scrolling now. Lighting is also VERY important as you have learned. Good post. "Doh!"
  6. I completely agree with JustLarry! They need to be informed.
  7. Phantom Scroller...I totally agree with you. Many great comments to this.
  8. awesome cutting and great subject. Thanks you so much for sharing and for caring.
  9. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like they are cheating if you don't create your own pattern for your projects? I have all the respect in the world for anyone who scrolls, whether they use their own pattern or not. It's just that I really need to use a pattern that I create in order to get the satisfaction from completing a project. I must be a little more weird than I always suspected.
  10. This is awesome. The eyes look perfect.
  11. I'm with Steve...the Superman cut is a great idea.
  12. Wow, Gator. What a great design and cut.
  13. Second effort is GREAT!
  14. Your work belongs in a beautiful gallery, not on a street corner. You are far too talented for this type of venue.
  15. You captured the movement of the dancers perfectly.
  16. Great work. I really liked the Mexico cutting.
  17. Thank you all for your nice comments. It means a lot to me. Now an update on this project....... Yesterday I asked my son to bring my grandson over and spend the day with me, so he and his wife could have some time alone. it was great, cuz I got to spend such a nice time with my grandson, while my son took his wife to a movie and shopping. When they returned to pick up my grandson, I gave them the scroll saw tiki picture that he had requested. These are his exact words: "It's creepy-looking." Then he told me that they are probably moving to Kansas City (I live near Sacramento, CA). And they left without taking the picture I made. I feel like I've been kicked in my heart.
  18. Good work on both projects. Intarsia is incredible.
  19. Thank you all for your comments and encouragement. I'm trying to decide what to try next. Portraits are my "safety zone".
  20. The green tiki pic is the one my son gave me as an inspiration to make a tiki picture for him. I couldn't make a decent pattern for it, so I got a better tiki picture, and I put my son and his family in it.
  21. Yeah, I did that with each post, Kevin. Still didn't work. It might be my crappy pc and tablet. I just know that it is frustrating and I don't want to bother with it anymore for a while.
  22. I still can't get the picture to attach. Sorry...won't try again.
  23. This is the Tiki pic that I made for my son. I put his family in the pic.
  24. Ignore this post!
