  1. Wilson142; you have no idea how cold she was, I'm just glad it's over.......Now I can get back to making saw dust and purdy firewood !!!!!
  2. Ok, I'm not sure this goes here, but here it is! When I was big into Scrolling I had a Delta P-20, to say I loved it would be an under statement, this thing was great. And like a story that's been told a million times I lost it in a divorce. I have been searching for another one, I can find them.....in California !!! a bit to far away. Am I barking up a dead tree trying to get another one, I've been told the 788 is just as good, never used one, can it even be comapired to the P-20? I'm using a Delta Shop Master, there is almost no clearence for cutting, and changing the blade is....well......frustrating !!!!!!! I am starting to get many requests for projects and the Delta I have ain't going to work in the long run, would make a good boat anchor I believe !!! Anyhow.......Thanks for letting me vent, back to the never ending searching....... Chris

  4. UPDATE: My wife returned from the dog how in which the clocks were part of a silent auction to raise funds for the national club. Both clocks went for $80
  5. Well, hello from the other side of the state, I'm in Midland, not far from the Saginaw bay. Chris
  6. Very Nice sends a great message
  7. That is just flat out cool!!! I am a big Moose fan... Very nice work!!
  8. Well, seems like the first 2 clocks I made drew quite an interest. On one hand this is good, I hate making "dust" collectors, I'd rather make things that have purpose. After seeing the pics of the clocks my wife put on her FB page one of her dog people asked if I could make one from a picture she had. My answer, "tell her to send it and I'll see what I can do" The first pic is what she sent, picture 2 is the clock I made. Still need to put poly on it, but it's done for the most part. The light wood is maple and the dark is walnut. I must admit I love the challenge of taking a picture and turning it into a wood project. I really love the sanding part (I know, weird eh!!) but that's when the wood comes to "Life". Know what I mean ! Hawk.
  9. Hey Phil; Welcome. My daughter is in college not to far from you, she's in Demorest. She tells me it's plenty hot down there.
  10. To be honest, I'm not that new at scrolling. Before my divorce I had been at it for around 5 years. Lost all of my woodworking tools in that ordeal, now 4 years later I'm where I can get back to the relaxing past time of scrolling. The scroll saw I currently use is no where near the Delta P-20 I had (using A Delta Shopmaster), and I am saddened that the P-20 is no longer in production. Funny thing is my wife posted them on FaceBook for all her dog pals to see, now she's asking me to make 2 more with a Springer in a walking pose. Back to the pattern making stage.......
  11. My wife asked me to make a couple of clocks she can take to the Springer Spaniel National dog show for the raffle table. Here's what I came up with. I took a Springer portrait pattern I had and re-sized it to fit the clock. Then With sharpie in hand simplified the pattern for inlay. Then off to the scroll saw. They came out purddy good !!!! They are about 11" in diameter and are Maple and Walnut.
  12. I made this pattern from a $5 dollar bill.
  13. The Lincoln portrait in my profile pic is a pattern I did from a 5 dollar bill.
  14. Well, I'm finally back to scrolling. Long story short, I lost all my woodworking tools in a divorce. Now I'm am slowly aquiring them again, started with a Delta "Shop Master" scroll saw. Not quite the Delta P-20 I had, but not a bad little saw. I mostly cut portraits, some from patterns I purchase and some patterns I make myself. Also enjoy intarsia, the challenge is what draws me to that aspect of the hobby. and just making usefull items. Looking forward to this winter when I can really get the scroll saw cranked up, but I have to say, it's good to be back in the saddle again ! Chris
