  1. I like Danish oil but it takes a look night time to dry. I have switched to shellac or spray can lacquer.
  2. As always, excellent work and creativity.
  3. Glad to see you Jerry. We need a sub forum for Wordle.
  4. I will be different as I do not dye or paint wood. I like the traditional Intarsia of picking woods for their color and grain structure and also carving and shaping the pieces. I do not consider painted pieces Intarsia. Some just cut the wood pieces and round all the edges and are done. If it makes you hapoy..great. This is a piece I did where I really enjoyed finding the right wood and grain and then spent many hours shaping pieces. This is my type of Intarsia.
  5. Absolutely excellent !
  6. I just bought the Rikon 14" from Amazon. Initially, I thought their price was high but it included free shipping. From other suppliers, the price was lower but shipping extra and it typically was a couple hundred and once you added it, the price was very close to Amazon. I spent about $1600 plus another ~$100 on a couple blades. I plan to build a rolling base to make it mobike. I had reviewed the other brands such as Laguna, Jet, and Harvey but liked the Rikon guides and how you adjust them. My son has the same saw and happy with it. I also have the Rikon 10" bandsaw for small stuff but not resaw. Good Luck
  7. This is an excellent example of well done Intarsia. I really appreciate how each piece is shaped and the choice of woods.
  8. I have not posted lately and have done very little scrolling. My hands and wrists are causing my problems. Hopefully, I will start scrolling again soon. We have been collecting Monarch Caterpillars this fall and raising them. We have released 8 Monarchs this year. It is a thrill to see them flutter away knowing that they will start their migration soon. I have attached pictures of the on a Milkweed leaf, in the Chrysalis and a male sitting in my hand before fluttering away.
  9. So sad, she was a great in Intarsia. I have used her patterns and attended a class at a workshop. A gifted talent and nice person.
  10. Thank you for these .
  11. I have a Generac running on natural gas. We are very pleased with it. It runs everything including the well and AC.
  12. My advice, if you want one then get one. Fir me, the time is here where waiting a few years is not a good idea. I just want to make me happy.
  13. You could add polyurethane to your mix. I do not use BLO due the the fire hazard.
  14. First, check the bit for scratches or marks. If you have scratches on the bit, carefully smooth them over. Look down the inside if the collet for scratches or burrs. As others have suggested clean the collet out of any dust or grime. Consider buying a new collet. I can buy one for my Porter Cable routers for $10-15. You do not want to use a damaged collet.
  15. I listen to a book or old time radio. For some reason, I do not find it distracting. As a side note, I am amazed at the amount of old time radio that is available. I especially like Gunsmoke, Yours Truly Johnny Dollar and too many more to list. .most are available for free.
  16. I sold my Stihl gas trimmer and bought the Ego. No more yanking on the cord to start. It runs great, no gas, etc, etc etc.
  17. This quite excellent !!! I have not seen this style before and am extremely impressed. The cutting is great and the choice of colors really brings out the details. It is one of the top projects I have seen lately.
  18. Very well done and cute. The details are excellent.
  19. I do not know what filters the Wen uses. My Jet uses 12 x 24 x 1 filters and they are $7.78 each. They work well for me. HomeDepot has them for less. In case people are wondering, the chart shows what size particles each MERV rating captures. You could use a higher MERV rating filter at higher cost but probably will not result in a better result.
  20. I change the filter routinely in my shop on a Jet air filter.
  21. That is very interesting !!
  22. I was looking up something on Amazon and saw some pool hose reels. They held up to 40 ft of1-1/2" hose with the price around $50. They are a bit bigger than some but a smaller price.
  23. The one in the video is expensive at around $400-500. Rockler sell one that is cheaper at around $160 and will holf 40 ft of 1-1/2" hose. It may not be as sturdy but worth a look.
  24. Terry Fator is great. I watched him on AGT where he won one season. There is nothing fake and he has been doing this a long time.
