  1. I love my Brother Laser printers. I have one that scans, copies and prints and does a great job. I often scan an image and then manipulate in PowerPoint. I also have a Brother plain printer which works well. They are much better than the HP inkjet printers.
  2. I made a wooden jig to hold pieces at a 45 degree angle and the use a plane to shave material off the angle piece to get it exactly right. If you are not into hand tool woodworking, using a plane to shoot a board probably does not make sense.
  3. To get corners right you need two things. Opposite sides must be the same length and angles 45 degrees. I cut mine with a sled on my table saw and then use a shooting plane to get exact.
  4. Sassafras is an interesting plant with various medicinal uses for all parts of the plant. For myself, I would use something with similar grain.
  5. It is the placebo effect or not. If you believe, it will cut.
  6. I bought my Ottlite at JoAnn Fabric with a 40% off coupon and paid about $50. It has good optics all the way to the edges. They may come from the same factory but there certainly is a huge difference in the optics of some.
  7. I use the 1.75X and works well. The higher magnification of the 2.25x was too much.
  8. Looks like a good magnifying lamp. I have a similar one from Ottlite. To some it is expensive but to get good glass optics it will be a bit more dollars. I tried a cheap one and made my eyes go cross eyed.
  9. I use my Shopsmith to do the same thing and have pneumatic drum sander on each end of the head. It is variable speed which is very useful.
  10. Yes, great site that I have been using for awhile.
  11. Those are very well done. The only thing that I might change is the back ground color which appears grey. I would experiment with some different colors to see how they look.
  12. Very nice score..
  13. Amazon has a lot of cutting boards of all kinds of materials. I get almost everything from Amazon in one day.
  14. I use a skip tooth blade such as the FD Polar.
  15. What are you going to use it for? That is the first question. I have Milwaukee M12 which fit my hand well Does not have the power of a 20 volt but much lighter.
  16. Interesting idea but your 837 cfm seems a bit high. I looked up similar fans and only find 100-200 cfm. I can not pull that much cfm thru a 4" duct with a 5 hp Dust Collector with a 15" blade.
  17. Married almost 50 years....DO NOT TOUCH MY SHOP !!!!!!!
  18. Carefully mix in a small container, add colorant and carefully use it. I measure each part of the epoxy so I have the right ratio and use Bob Smith epoxy. I use a longer setting epoxy for projects like the Monarch. If you just blob it on, that is what you get.
  19. I posted this project awhile ago but it fits here. The flower and petals are made of thin wood shavings. The Monarch is wood with epoxy fill.
  20. I do not care for the bins but it is personal preference. For smaller parts and such I have the plastic pill containers with screw on lids that I have labeled the tops and sides with a label maker. You can also cheaply buy them on eBay or any other size container. All of mine are the same size and put in a shallow drawer. I gradually have gotten rid of a lot of MISC small stuff that there is no immediate use for. and do not save them. At this point, I am trying to get rid of seldom used stuff.
  21. I use the Danish oil but only on a few projects. I use a Ziploc bag and put the piece inside and pour the Danish oil in and kind of roll it around. I let it soak awhile and then pour the rest into the can..
  22. I have a Ottlite which came with two lens. I bought it at JoAnns Fabrics and they always have coupons for up to 40% off. For my eyes, it works very well with a wide field of view.
  23. I tried a HF magnifier light but my eyes did not like it. I found that it had more distortion and smaller area in focus than my Ottlite.
  24. Everyone's eyes are different and the important thing is to find a lens that is comfortable to use with both eyes. I tried a couple of the same power but were totally different on how my eyes felt. A magnifier that works for me may not work for others. I tried a HF one and it was terrible for me.
  25. There is a very large range in the quality of magnifier lights. I looked at a bunch until I bought my Ottlite with a 3x and 5x lens. The optical quality is very good. I use the 3 diopter lens and it works well for me.
