  4. Between rain and too hot to play golf, spent some times in the shop. Made a cutting board for my daughter in black walnut 20”x18” one more bowl and a couple of steak boards (might be hard sell who can afford a steak) also my Legion branch asked for nameplate for their board meetings .
  5. Nicely done I think you are right on the wood Baked maple, KJP a has all kind of it.

  7. This is fantastic, the craftsmanship is over the top and the finishing is excellent. This piece should be cherished forever
  8. I would use “Osmo” oil, if you want it shinny choose the glossy one and the more coat you apply the shinier it gets after the buffing. BTW a great piece of black walnut
  9. Where can I get the pattern, really like it
  10. I agree with Don #9 blade is way to big for pine and most of the cutting on a scrollsaw in my opinion

  14. We had lot’s of rain lately which is not too good for the golf courses, so made a few items in the shop to keep busy. The crucifix was for one commission work but decided to cut two at once.
  15. DOUBLE WOW lot’s of nice sawdust here
  16. The shipping cost is more than twice the cost for the patterns, I quit buying from them years ago.
  17. Very nice bet you it will not see the bath tub.
  18. Barb, go to Amazon only $44.00 shipped to your door
  19. I used maple, yellow heart and blood wood, the only dark wood that you have to be careful of bleeding is Padauk
  20. Spent sometime in the shop before golf start. Made a charcuterie board out of roasted maple and a few bowls out of left over wood.
  21. To control any overflow I use clear Silicone caulking, it works great and to remove just use a chisel and than sander
  22. EACH PLAYER NEEDS 12 Pennies : note - you can use 10 pennies if you want to make a faster game THE OBJECT OF THE GAME IS TO BE THE FIRST TO GET RID OF ALL OF YOUR PENNIES 1. Determine who goes first by each player rolling the single dice cube. Highest # goes first; then play proceeds in a clockwise direction. 2. Player rolls the die and must put a penny in the game board slot corresponding to the number shown on the die. 3. If the player rolls a number that already has a penny in it, they must take all of the pennies showing on the board and then the turn goes to the next player 4. A player must take at least one roll, but can take as many rolls as they want until they get stuck as in rule #3. 5. Hole number 6 lets the penny go inside the box so you can roll as many as 6’s as possible without penalty 6. Play continues until a player runs out of pennies and is declared the winner. The pennies are redistributed to start the next game. 7. A fun way to wager on the game would be for each player to put a quarter or a sum of money inside the box prior to the game starting. The winner would then be awarded that money. If plan on giving Penny Drop as a gift please contact me about having a name or message laser engraved on the box via Email or the friendly neighborhood Chat Bot in the bottom right corner.
  23. Have been making lot’s of “Penny Drop” boxes but since Canada got rid of Pennies in 2013 the availability is scare. So my clients started asking for a nickel Dropbox, with the help of Don in Brooklin here are the results
  24. My wife volunteer at our local Legion as a bartender and their tips bowl was awful so I decided to make one for them, maybe bigger tips LOL
  25. With the angle calculator to make the bowl with a piece of wood 3/4” thick and ring at 3/8” wide the angle will be 26.6 degrees. I will suggest that if you use hard wood, go easy DO NOT push the blade too hard because that will change the angle and the sanding will take quite a bit of work. P.S. Carole does not call it sanding but shaping it does not sound as bad. LOL
