These were all taken at Mueller State Park here in Colorado. I am planning on going back there again this Saturday to do some more snowshoeing and taking some more pictures for jigsaw puzzles.
Thanks
Jim
I sit on a stool at both the DeWalt and the Harbor Freight. I need to look for a taller stool though, because the saws are about chest level and I would rather have them about belly button level.
Jim
Thanks Jerry, I will keep an eye open for your new pattern post. No problem with frustrations for me. I looked at it and it looked like something could be better just can't figure it out. To me the pattern looks very busy...which isn't good to a photographer.
Jim
I have started working on a scroll saw pattern for a friends last name and her kids first names. Here is where I'm at now. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.I am using Inkscape and have been watching Travis' classes.
Thank you
Jim
So I'm having a slow day here at work and have been pondering some things. I was wondering if maybe the forum folks to help me out on.
First question:
I have a friend who is wanting me to make her a plaque with her last name on it along with her 3 children's first name. I am thinking her last name in the background and then her children's names in the front. I'm not sure what that is called. I worked on it a little bit last night but didn't like the looks of the last night because it looked to masculine. I'm sure it is the font (times new roman) that I am using. Does anyone have any input on this? I don't know what wood I'm going to use and she really doesn't have a preference.
Second question:
How long does your blade last on your saw? I know this is a pretty vague question. I heard someone saying they normally changed their blades after about 30 minutes of cutting. I'm just wondering if this is the norm. Also how do I know it is time to replace the blade?
Thanks
Jim

Here is a picture of what I cut today. Wow the saw cuts so smoother than the HF.
Well I just heard, the Barrel Races are cancelled tomorrow due to weather. So I'm thinking I will be working in the garage all day tomorrow cutting out Christmas Trees and Christmas Stars. I will post what I get done tomorrow.
Jim
Yes I did turn it on and turned on the light. Wow the saw is so quiet compared to the HF. Also mounted one of the saw blades that came with the saw. Can't wait to make a Christmas Star or Christmas Tree.
Jim
Well, she is put together and ready for some cutting tomorrow night. And there looks like a storm is coming in tomorrow and possibly the Barrel Races will be canceled this weekend. If so, guess what is going to get a real workout.
Jim
Woohoo!!! Only spent 90 minutes putting the Dewalt Scroll Saw table together. I'm sure that is a record......somewhere . Tomorrow night put the scroll saw together and mount to the table. Ready for some serious scrolling now......well almost.
Jim
So my DeWalt Scroll Saw just arrived and I already have the table that goes with it from DeWalt. Has anyone put the table and saw on wheels to move it around? If so which ones and how are they working out for you?
Thanks everybody, it looks like I will have to wait till Monday to play with it. It is still sitting at UPS for some reason. Oh well, I will still play with the Harbor Freight one and try some jigsaw puzzles this weekend.
Thanks
Jim
I ordered the Dewalt Scroll Saw on Sunday from Amazon. The expected delivery date was Wednesday Jan 6th. I just checked and it looks like the saw is here in town today. Woohoo!!! Here's hoping UPS can deliver it to me today so I can have 3 days to put it together and play with it.
