  1. Final version without the alleged "outhouse".
  2. I came up with a different house, will cut tomorrow. Thank you guys for your kind comments.
  3. I had an idea tonight. It started with the carolers, which by themselves looked somewhat forlorn. Then I found the slat of walnut with the live edge. Soon came the turned tree and holder for a votive candle. The house is not attached, yet, because hubby compared it to an outhouse. Hm... A reindeer instead?
  4. Thanks! hope you will share pictures.
  5. She did well and had to keep explaining to people that the items were NOT Laser or CNC cut.
  6. How long does it take you to make one?
  7. Just practicing wood turning for the trees Jim. Based on YouTube videos. And imagination
  8. Inspired by Danny, I scanned the pattern and cut it today. The background is black ash, the stable is poplar, the holy family is mahogany, the shepherd is walnut, so is the donkey, and the lamb is maple. For added pizzazz I threaded tiny LED lights through all cuttings in the background piece. Hope I did as well as Denny. ;-)
  9. Still on my list! Great job Denny!
  10. Great job, Marg. With follow up business to boot
  11. spontaneous idea, spontaneously cut
  12. Using up the last big partially bug-eaten of that walnut slab, we purchased off that Amish gentleman earlier this year: Walnut - reindeerWalnut - tree (11" high 1.5" thick)Walnut - 4-piece star (13" high 1.5" thick) several ways to display, unsanded for a rustic look.
  13. In Germany we have Erntedankfest, which gives thanks for the harvest. It is no special holiday and is usually commemorated in churches, which are decorated with grains, breads, pumpkins, apples. etc.
  14. Sent, Travis. I hope they are acceptable!
  15. That is very kind of you Marg!
  16. Ah, but the Pegas stay straight on the line - no angle of the piece necessary.
  17. Kevin, they were made from a 2 x 4... ;-) Thanks for the feedback!
  18. Most made today. The little ornaments yesterday.
  19. A friend wanted something that represented a turtle and a squirrel. So after some design ideas, I made a turtle box that contains a little squirrel and some tiny acorns. The turtle is made from one piece of walnut. The inlays of the shell are from the other side of the same piece (sap wood). Squirrel is cherry and the acornlets are padouk. Hope y'all like!
