    A friend wanted something that represented a turtle and a squirrel. So after some design ideas, I made a turtle box that contains a little squirrel and some tiny acorns. The turtle is made from one piece of walnut. The inlays of the shell are from the other side of the same piece (sap wood). Squirrel is cherry and the acornlets are padouk. Hope y'all like!

    Melanie, the clef is about 10 inches - full size of a letter-sheet.

    Now the horses are about 2 inches high, whereas the Reindeer is about 8 . The ornament is by Steve Good.

    There is this German youtuber, who screws the layers together an countersinks the screw in the bottom so it doesn't stick out. Seems to work great for him. I have done it once, and I like it, but i had too many layers, so my blades kept breaking. Here is one of his videos.

    Guessing right. Can you see them? Got some at target and they are only half as high for some cheap reason.

    Ash, Maple, Cherry and Yellowheart, not oiled yet. Glue still needs to set.

    Spent the day in the workshop... Maple and olive wood for the fishes, alder for the mini-wreath, and 2.2 " thick poplar for the arches (that was an adventure - as the top of the blade arm was hitting the wood in spots ;-))

    I used Alder wood for the first time on the "Holy Night" and Birchbark's "Peace" and really like how it looks after the oil hits it. Thanks for the pattern Birchbark! Love it!

    I put the German word for Fall or Autumn (HERBST) into the shape of a pumpkin. Hope y'all like.
