  1. I've seen some of the patterns you've made in the past and they are really good. You are right. Last week I was trying to do something in Inkscape that I used to do quite often but no way could I remember. As the saying goes.........if you done use it you loose it. Maybe age has something to do with it.
  2. Thanks for the compliments Dick. I love it when I can make something for someone that has a lasting memory to them.
  3. How old are you grand kids? Steve Good has some. One of our members also had a huge assortment that he sell. https://woodcraftbyscott.com/
  4. Thanks for the compliment. All it takes is practice, practice and more practice. It helps me a lot to look at other peoples work who are much better than I so I can compare it to mine and see where I need to improve.
  5. I think it's for personal stuff. Thanks for the compliment.
  6. We can always see things that we can do better. Thanks so much.
  7. Very cool!
  8. Thanks for the compliment. I used a dowel turned up the speed on my sanding mop and burned the end,.
  9. Thanks so much. I didn't notice until after I was done that the inside of the top and bottom were the same except I turned them opposite directions. I wished I would have thought about it before it was done.
  10. I used a cardinal pattern by Kathy Wise and added the Dogwood. Used bloodwood, red oak, cedar, walnut, aspen, yellow heart, canary and poplar. My client loved it.
  11. I stain my backers so I use it to clean up my hands,
  12. That is still a big percentage jump.
  13. Check out their price on 1/2'
  14. February I bought a 5 x 5 sheet of Baltic Birch for $20 and some change. Friday I had to give $60 for the same stuff at the same place. 1/8" and 1/2" was about $50. The price of hardwood wasn't effected much.
  15. I have put an 1/8" strip of plywood under each edge to overdo it. It's a a beautiful piece of wood so I hope you can flatten it.
  16. You must have a gazillion cans of different colors.
  17. I really admire your work. What type of paint do you use?
  18. That is a beauty Dick!
  19. Oh my gosh! What a nightmare.
  20. Do you have an idea how long they hold a charge? Do you have a link.
  21. Be interested to see how they work. The last one I had would not hold charge very long.
  22. I spray everything with lacquer. No more than I stain it's just as easy for my to use a brush. In the past I used to build a lot of big things and I sprayed them. It was messy as heck. I still had to wipe them off.
  23. I definitely want a drill press that will handles 2 and 3 inch forstner bits. Takes a pretty good drill press for that. I currently have a small drill that Seyco sells that works similar to your rotary tool for drilling fretwork.
  24. I do a heck of a lot of inlays. I usually have my bevel on my saw set at about 1.4 degrees. I usually use about a #63 drill bit for my entry holes. In the past I have tried to drill at an angle but it seems that I get enough drift in the drill bit that it isn't worth it.
  25. What model do you have that it can hold a #70 drill bit? I currently have a small Craftsman. The spring broke about a year ago and I replaced it. It broke again about a month ago and I can't find one anywhere. It looks the same as a Rikon and they are not available either. Currently I have a rubber band doing a half assed job. The darn thing has no power either so I just need to decide on what I want to get.
