  1. Thanks Denny. Nice compliment coming from a frame guy.
  2. I want to thank @Jim Blume for the great pattern. I used 3M 77 spray glue to attach 1/8" BB to 1/4" BB backer. Frame made of poplar and stained Minwax black along with the backer. My first fret work project in quite a while.
  3. Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those are awesome heirlooms.
  4. I'm a top feeder on my Pegas but a bottom feeder on my Hegner. Too awkward for me to try to hold down the top arm and get the blade correctly in the clamp.
  5. I'm a top feeder on my Pegas so my table has a lot of little scratches around the hole. It doesn't bother me in the least because I buy my equipment to use.
  6. I've been using SW precatalized lacquer for several years. The lacquer cost me about $32 a gallon. I got tired of going through at least 5 rattle cans a week. The gun is not cheap but I totally love it. I leave lacquer in it all the time and clean the spray nozzle about every two weeks. I'm spraying something about every day. I put at least two coats on every thing I do and go over it with a sanding mop in between coats. I expect the finish on my projects to be as nice as fine cabinetry. That may be an over kill for what you are striving for. I will mention that going to something like this you have a lot of stink to deal with. When it is hot or humid I add a tiny bit of retarder to the lacquer so it dries without a problem. If you would like, you are welcome to send me something to finish so I can show you my results.
  7. I thought about that Marg but like I said, I could not bring myself to put my name on it.
  8. Oh heck.........I've seen your inlays. You sure don't need any help but you are welcome to come in play in my shop any day. Just a few hour flight for you.
  9. I'm sure you could do it. You say you like road trips..................trip on down and we'll spend a couple of days and make one.
  10. Love mine. Sure wouldn't give extra for the larger table. I see no need for it especially compared to my Hegner.
  11. Just make one.
  12. Already trashed. Couldn't bare to put my name on it the way it was.
  13. Yep. Got one side upside down.
  14. I was really proud of this box until I realized that I had screwed up putting it together. Pretty well tore it up trying to get it apart. I was able to salvage the top and bottom and at least I noticed my screw up before I spent the time finishing it.
  15. I have only had a band saw for about a year so I don't know much about them. My resaw blade was totally gummed up so I got on line last night to try to find a solution. Of coarse I found a lot of different opinions. Today I went to my local Ace Hardware store to find some Goof Off or something like that to soak it in. They did not have Goof Off in gallons. I asked a guy that worked there what the strongest industrial cleaner they had was. He asked me what I needed it for and I told him to clean my band saw blade. He told me that he would soak it in Coke. To my surprise it worked awesome.
  16. You're off to a great start.
  17. I have done several different images on the legs. I used 3/4" lumber. Emma Stool1.pdf Emma Stool2.pdf Emma Stool3.pdf
  18. The letters do come out.
  19. I have made a lot of these puzzle stools in different variations. I mortised the legs into the top on my scroll saw. Would be happy to share the pattern along with the lettering.
  20. Sent you a message.
  21. I use Word Art a lot of the time.
  22. Wouldn't be very handy for a top feeder.
  23. I've made a lot of these name puzzles. I usually set my saw at a 4 degree angle so the letters go in easier. This is the font I use so I don't have to worry about islands.
  24. A two year warranty isn't bad either.
