    Nice job on your cutting and framing. When I need a frame I make my own. I use 3/4" x 2". If I paint it I use poplar. I usually rabbit the back about 3/8" x 3/8". I have never used matting or glass. Everyone has to develop their own style and way of doing things. When I first started doing portrait for people I would ask if they wanted it framed for and extra $25. They always chose for me to leave my 1/2" backer painted black sticking out 1/2" all the way around.

    I made the pattern off a picture I saw.

    It is 4" deep. Cut each layer individually........glue them together and then sand.

    A band saw is on my wish list. Hopefully I will own one soon. Cut all of it on my scroll saw and sanded with my drum sander. The drawers didn't fit as tight as I would have liked but I was able to cover it up by rounding the edges over.
