  1. Great job on those Marg!
  2. I have to agree with you son. Love the bus. Glad you are alive and well.
  3. You'll probably have to buy another saw.
  4. The book ends look great. Welcome from Justin TX
  5. It can get a bit splotchy but you do not see large sections of it through the cuts. I always stain it dark. To me the edges don't even look bad once it is all finished.
  6. Happy Easter to you and yours Gordi. Those are cool plaques. Nice job! When I use oak for my scrolling and also like to stain the backer.
  7. My supplier charges the same for 1/2" and 1/4". The 1/2" wouldn't work as well if you didn't let it hang over your top piece.
  8. It is about 7" wide 6" deep and 4" tall. I back most of my appliqued plaques like the one I show here with 1/2" I never have to worry about nailing hangers on them.
  9. That is a cool patter. You did a great job on it. Love the colors.
  10. I use a lot of 1/2" baltic birch for backers and end up with a lot of scrap that I throw away which drives me crazy. Decided to do something different.
  11. Since four of my shows have been canceled I have spent some time doing some things that I have wanted to do in a long time but have put off. I have a mini split heat pump in my shop for heating and cooling. It wasn't designed for a super dusty environment like my shop. It has a filter in it but not adequate. When in use I had to blow it out every other day with my air compressor. Came up with this idea. The box hangs on a cleat for easy removal. I used foam around the bottom to seal it up. Time will tell how it works. I also built this lumber rack on wheel which I desperately needed.
  12. Ray, I always have 1/8" and 1/2" on hand. I use 1/8" for scrolling and 1/2" for backers. The 1/8" only cost me about $13 for a 5x5. 1/4" cost me the same as 1/2" so I don't mess with it.
  13. I have four different wood glues in my shop but not CA glue and never have. What in particular are you using the CA glue for?
  14. Welcome from Justin, TX
  15. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I hate the fuzzies spiral blades leave. If you have a recommendation of a blade that takes care of this let me know.
  16. I was scheduled for a show this weekend in Fort Worth. As of this morning at 9 it was still on. I got there at 11 to set up which took me three hours. As I was getting ready to leave to head home they called it off. What a bummer.
  17. Super nice Jim!
  18. Jim, Can't answer you on thermostat. Species of wood definitely makes a difference. Soft burns faster. Hard to hold it straight and get a perfect brand.
  19. That is very cool Charlie!
  20. That is a beauty Ray! Love it!
  21. I think that is just for the stamp. The size of the stamp also makes a difference. Then you have to buy the iron.
  22. Beautiful patterns and cuttings!
  23. Super nice Ron! What is the story on the handles.
  24. Being I do a bunch of inlays I have a pile of stuff that are from the drop outs. I'm sure I could make something with them but I have too many other things I want to make.
  25. I have always put stickers on all my projects. Decided that they might look a bit more professional with a brand. Things that I would oil and bees wax the stickers would not stay on. Found this iron on Etsy for about $80 including tax and shipping. Took close to a month to get because it came from China. I sure am pleased with it. https://www.etsy.com/listing/622156958/150w-300w-electric-power-iron-wooden-or?ref=shop_home_active_1&crt=1
