  1. Your title brought a smile to my face. Keep it up Roly!
  2. That is looking awesome!
  3. I live in Justin. Probably about an hour from you depending on what part of the city you live in. I have a Hegner and Pegas that you are welcome to test drive.
  4. I have a Pegas saw also and love it. I will also mention that @Denny Knappen has great prices and service on Pegas blades.
  5. They suggested making it out of 1/4" wood. I never use 1/4" unless it is plywood. I didn't understand the instructions very well so I did it my own way. I will try to take a couple of pictures to explain how I did the corners. Writing is not one of my strengths.
  6. You need to have a little more faith in yourself. Give it a shot. It was fun. My big concern was drilling through the side into the top to put the hinge pin in.
  7. Lately I have been using a #1 MGB set at 1.5 degrees. I always use 3/8 stock when doing inlays. The angle well vary depending on wood thickness and blade size. I used a #65 drill bit for the entry holes. Using a #3 blade I set my saw a about 1.7 degrees and use a #63 drill bit.
  8. They are just inlayed. The corners are mitered.
  9. Found this pattern in Scroll Saw Magazine Fall issue 2006. Always fun to make a new design.
  10. I use mahogany and maple together all the time. No problem so far.
  11. Last month I purchased a Rikon variable speed grinder. 2000 RPM is working fine for me. Mounted sanding sleeve on one side and a drill chuck on the other to use my sanding mops.
  12. I've been using 77 for the past couple of years. As Jerry said it would always spit unless I kept the tip clean. Upon a recommendation from him a couple of months ago I bout some 45. It is a bit less the $6 at Depot. So glad I switched. Thanks Jerry.
  13. I was on it about two days ago. Can't get on now.
  14. Totally awesome!
  15. This just takes a few extra minutes.
  16. Nice job Tony! Haven't seen you in a long time. Welcome back.
  17. I highly recommend ArtCrafters if you are in the market for Pegas Blades. Great price and fast service.
  18. Did you design the candle holder for the metal piece? Looks like it fits perfectly.
  19. Love the combination of wood and metal.
  20. Received blade order from Denny (ArtCrafters) today. Great service and super special price.
  21. Nice inlay Charlie.
  22. The nice thing about puzzles is that it really doesn't really matter if you stay on the line. I use a sanding mop to break the edges on mine.
  23. I went to a lumber company today and bought a bunch of exotic wood. They told me if I edge glued exotic wood that I should scrub the edge good with acetone before glue up. They said it was dry but it had a lot of oil in it which prevented a good glue joint. I had never heard anything about that before but working with exotics is new to me.
  24. I own a three year old Hegner and a two year old Pegas. I like both saws. On large projects I like to be able to top feed with the Pegas. If I am cutting thick wood I like the Pegas. If I am doing fine intricate work I like my Hegner. My Hegner will defiantly outlast my Pegas. I would not give up either saw. If I could only keep one saw it would be the Pegas.
  25. I top feed with my Pegas and the bottom clap will start to do this after a couple of times clamping. I have tried to figure out how to stop it but no luck.
