Hmmm, after some thought no that can't happen. It took me three tries to find a girl friend who also believes that being married does not stop the boyfriend girlfriend relationship. The responsible side of her (wife) likes the red, but the wild wonderful women I met likes the green. It's kind of like the words nude and naked that people think mean the same. Nude means no clothes, but naked means no clothes with a teasin' pleasin' attitude

For those of you that use an actual branding iron on your work, do you brand the item before or after you put the finish on? Is your branding iron electric, or heat it with a flame? which do you prefer if you have tried both?

I cheat the walls of the boxes are one piece. The first ones I did were rounded, but I found during sanding I had trouble keeping and equal radius for all 4 corners so I went to mitered corners

Glued up some scrap and went to cuttin' So as an informal poll, what do you like better the red or green flocking (green box provided for comparison, I think I already posted this one)

I understand the mod for centering the blade on the hegner But what is the inset for in your pic that looks like a saw blade? or is that just to remind you what to use that inset area for?

To make a temporary wall, you need a frame for each 4x8 sheet, or at least one running frame with vertical studs to secure the 4x8 insulation sheet to. the problem I have with this, is that it is not really temporary the way I think of temporary, lot of construction to both put it up and take it down, and while have have a lot of space - that temporary wall has to be stored somewhere. The wall needs to be secured to the floor and the ceiling or rafters too. We used to sell at a trade fair where the booth was inside old turkey barns, no heat no A/C, a tarp hanging (not even to the top of the rafters) held the heat in to our space just fine from a 5# propane heater bottle. I would go with a tarp, what the hell if it does not work you have a tarp and you can always nail up some 2x4s

I'll admit I am in this hobby only a couple of years, but I have never seen an Ex with a painted table, assuming you are talking about the flat surface you put the wood that is being cut - I would use steel wool or a random orbit sander with 400 grit or higher Can you post a pic?

Scrappile has it right, use a a tarp or two, you can peel them back like curtains in the summer or take em down

Yes, just enough so the clamping area of the set screw is sticking out from the clamp surface. Poor sketch attached which hopefully shows the realtionship I'm odd I guess I have never tried to center the blade in the clamp slot.

I always feel you should try what you want as long as you can afford the cost without changing your life style. Inkscape and gimp are two graphics programs that are free (open source) and you can download and install both. There is a learning curve and depending on you personally how steep that curve is can be hard to say. In the resource center here at SSV are tutorials on both inskscape and gimp, and of course googling them will find you even more of the tutorial or how to instructions/videos on the net. I say go for it.

Scott, I had that problem when I first put on the pegas clamp and was using PMG #3, did all that you have mentioned, turns out it was the upper arm not being level with the table top. I did one other thing, I put a piece of metal to replace the blade (one piece top to bottom), brought the set screw up to the metal just barely, then tightened the wing nut clamp. Then I did the top one after that, I think that insurs that the metal substitute for the blade was plumb.

Yea, me too. No matter how much I practice with them, I can do it faster, and more accurate with my goto blade.

My thoughts exactly. Stick the pattern to the wood, a little MS, and it lifts right off - tools not required
