  1. That came out really nice, kudo's
  2. Love the way it presents on that piece of wood, nice job
  3. I store my rattle cans on their sides - I tell myself that allows the pigment a more even distribution when settling, shake and turn upside down as you mentioned, then shake and paint a few hours later
  4. try a bike seat, they are expensive but worth it. I do 500-600 miles a day on it at times. https://www.jpcycles.com/product/800-325/mustang-wide-vintage-solo-seat?mrkgcl=444&mrkgadid=3298931668&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=465824127318_product_type_motorcycles_product_type_seats_and_backrests_product_type&utm_campaign=Google+Shopping++Manufacturer+Intent+-+Seats+and+Backrests&product_id=800-325&utm_content=pla&adpos=1o3&creative=278823731736&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-b7qBRDPARIsADVbUbXxw80RohiUWgYXkwejqYVwwPwhP7wi6ZpfeXEFJDKwBLV8omfwAWoaAqtjEALw_wcB or google for motorcycle solo seat - roadking or electra glide
  5. That is awesome, if you did not say it was your first no one would suspect that.
  6. Welcome to the village, Lot of helpful willing folks here, but since no one told you yet The new guy has to sweep up and restock the beer welcome
  7. don't do that? You have a bonfire or something?
  8. Ditto what Paul said, except a fingernail works as well as an x-acto knife and there is little chance of gouging the wood
  9. Layout a work shop? That would imply it was empty to start with, in my case when I move if there is a work shop, that is where everything goes that does not have a specific place. Then it gets weeded out, and what is left, piled here and there, is placed in the nearest empty spot. My shop shares woodworking with harley parts and tools, and ..... Layout a shop - what an interesting idea ROFL
  10. Great minds! That is exactly what I was thinking.
  11. Beautiful work
  12. see this, all you wanted to know and more http://mohawkglobal.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/labeling-childrens-products.pdf
  13. Very nice work. Curious, can't really tell from the pics, are the eyes inset or are they stuck on the outside? That is a nice touch by the way.
  14. On the D&D site when you order pegas blades it tells you what drill size to use for that blade, as well as the measurement for the blade. Since that is all I am using right now, I am not sure about niqua (flying dutchman) but I would expect that is there too, or if not on the WTB site
  15. The wolf is gorgeous, and as far as mistakes on the second, I don't see it. That is the beauty of fretwork, miss the line just call it an added feature or artistic embellishment. No matter how complicated the piece is, it is still one hole at a time. Take some breaks and walk around, it does really help as opposed to just sitting and going at it start to finish
  16. Really nice shadow box, Hope you show it when finished take her on a vacation, cheaper than moving, to the piney woods area in Texas https://www.durangotexas.com/eyesontexas/TexasRegions/PineyWoods/pineywoods.htm and for snow try the Guadalupe mountains
  17. I edited the original but thought I would repeat it here since if you are like me, you only check on new posts to a thread I finally figured out what has been bothering me about this pic, the wall of the box is basswood, basswood is white. not being the sharpest ac in the box I took the pic on a gloss yellow backing I had, then I used photoshop to get rid of the yellow back drop and just missed that the white basswood had picked up the yellow reflection. Sorry about that
  18. She says that is pretty, thinking fast I say it tells a story too her: really, what? Me : The hearts are cedar that is a soft wood, when two soft, gentle hearts come together they are as strong as an oak, the center part. her: awe! there was a happy ending that night
  19. Thanks for the kind words y'all. Any of you wood guru's have suggestions for the two types of wood for that kind of inlay?
  20. of what wood looks good after sanding and finishing, needs some work. First double inlay red cedar base, basswood walls, curly maple with red cedar and red oak inlay and though not shown, hunter green flocking inside EDIT: I finally figured out what has been bothering me about this pic, the wall of the box is basswood, basswood is white. not being the sharpest ac in the box I took the pic on a gloss yellow backing I had, photoshop to get rid of the yellow back drop and just missed that the white basswood had picked up the yellow reflection. 21. I have always had good results with woodPeckers, both quality and timely shipping
  22. Bored so I'll throw in my two cents on that impulse sealer, I had one we used in my daughters business It seals the end, it does not extract the air. I found that you could use regular zip lock bags as long as the impulse part where it seals did not cross the zipper If I had thought about the shrink wrap bags I referenced earlier, I would never have used the impulse sealer, JMO YMMV
  23. Just my two cents, but in the first pic of the manifold. The direction of the flow should be from the arms of the "Y" to the base. Looking at the letter "Y" - flow from from top to bottom. The manifold appears to used differently Yes, air, liquid and electricity will take the shortest path with the least resistance. Bends and joints should be as gentle as possible, the sharper the bend, the higher the resistance to flow.
  24. Yep, I agree, very nice cutting
  25. Very nice
