  2. Brad, Thank you for sharing with us and opening your heart about your daughter. I can just imagine how hard it must have been. I'll be looking forward on seeing your progress. I will try to post some of my progress too. Take care Brad
  3. I've yet to try the Pegas or FD but I can speak highly about the Olson Mach Blades and the PGTs(Precision Ground Tooth). The Mach series are really good and fairly aggressive but do not stay sharp as long as the PGT . I really like that the Mach series has #3 as PGT starts at #5. The PGT on the other has stays the sharpest of all the blades that I have used in the past 15 years and after the cut is done the cut piece looks like is was polished. I almost never need to sand that edge because of that. The down side of the PGT is it price at $45 a gross. But ... you get an incredibly smooth cut with the PGT.
  4. Wow, Thank you for sharing Brad. Over Christmas, My (living) Parents asked me to make their cremation urns. I have to say that It took me by surprise but now I'm very honored that they asked me . I love John T's idea of an overlay but Is there any standard sizes for these Urns? Is there any good plans for them?
  5. this is my third year doing craft shows and i’ve learned so much! I made my own portable display and am keeping track of the fairs that do good or not. I did 10 craft shows with an average of $500 sales. I’m very pleased with this! Here is my display! Merry Christmas to all!

  8. Welcome back home Dan! I hope you recover fast and well so you can make some saw dust again!
  9. Scott I've been bringing my scroll saw to a local venue for 4 years now and in the beginning, I was concerned about the dust and noise but the event coordinator told me to not worry about it because I was helping to draw crowds in and keep the crowds inside. She actually told me that she would take care of the clean up herself. Year after year , I get returning customers because I stood out of the crowd. Thank you Jim for the info on the inverter so I can bring my saw on outdoors venues

I've used them a few time for 1 7/16th clock insets and that have had the best price. The quality of the clock a very good. I ordered from them 3 times in the past years with absolutly no problem. Thumbs up for me!
  16. Nice Iggy, After doing a dozen shows, I got sick of loading and unloading when I got home so I invested in a 4x6 enclosed trailer. That was the best $1500 I've ever spent and I paid it off in 2 month out of my craft fair revenues. After a show, I just park the trailer and its almost ready for next show. I never miss anything anymore because It stays in the trailer. everything fits in there with room to spare. This is my trailer
  17. Wow Iggy, I'm impressed at how you're organized. This gives me so many ideas!!! Thank you for sharing and good luck on your next sale!
  18. I've gotten some form Sloan's Woodshop.: http://www.sloanwoodshop.com/drill_bits.htm
  19. My wood of choice are Cherry, walnut, Maple, Poplar and basswood. But I also use Baltic birch and any combination of 1/4 plywood for backers, and also to make ornaments. I feel very lucky because most of the wood I use comes from the scraps of a furniture maker here in Vermont. The only wood I have purchased in the past 3 years is Baltic birch. My wife keeps telling me to stop bringing more wood in but I can't help myself! Right now I should have plenty of wood for the next five years or so!
