  1. I have purchased many patterns from Sue and have communicated with Sue on several occasions and it was ALWAYS a pleasure working with her. I've never had any problems with any of her patterns.
  2. Welcome Bill from beautiful Vermont!
  3. I buy my blades from Seyco. I plan , in the near future on getting a NEW scroll saw for a change and get a Seyco!!! Spoke to Ray a few times and IT was just awesome to talk about scroll saws with him. Very knowledgeable and Honest!
  4. Len you're tent idea is awesome! I will certainly work on that one for next winter! Old tents are always easy to find on Craigslist Thank you for sharing!!!
  5. Using tie wraps, I attach 3 together and they hold very well on their own. See picture
  6. I have purchased many patterns from Sheila and Keith. The patterns are awesome and they respond like no others. They love feedback. good or bad! I'm always looking forward to seeing their new patterns coming out on a weekly basis and sometimes more.
  7. I don't get it! The Excalibur Scroll saw is now in stock at Rockeler and Homedepot. I'm at a loss! Are they still making them or not? I emailed General Canada but have not gotten any answers back

  9. Just found a review of the Stockroom Supply Flatmaster drum sander on lumber jocks. Sounds very interesting!!! http://lumberjocks.com/reviews/3709
  10. I just added this dust collector and I really like it. The VAC is quieter then my shop vac but still not as quiet as I would have expected. I'll be trying to fit some sort of "muffler" to the exhaust. The cyclone is absolutely awesome!!! There is barely any dust that goes to the filter. The dust collect only attaches to the bottom of the saw via a magnet. it does a decent job but it needs improvement on that one. there is no top dust collection. Seyco does supply a goose neck attachment for the top but you need to figure out how to attach it and how to connect it to the bottom hose. I plan to buy a ScrollNado and attach it to the Dust collector. Seyco also supplies a power spliter to attach to your foot switch so the VAC starts the minute you start scrolling. Overall, I'm happy with this dust collector. its not perfect but it does a very goo job at sucking up dust. Now to perfect the positioning of the hoses and that will be perfect!!
  11. Runa, that is an awesome display. You do some realy nice work.

  13. I like cherry and Poplar for puzzles.
  14. I was at my favorite craft show in my own town. I take two spots and bring my scroll saw and make mini puzzles for kids to take for free! That show is always my best seller ! As a bonus, a gentlemen came to see me and he said that he saw me scroll last year and it got him to try it and ... he's addicted! I'm so glad to have sparked the flame in someone ! That was the highlight of my show!!
  15. I have to agree with JT also. I think that Baltic Birch is the way to go and it stains very nicely too.
  16. When cutting 1/8" Baltic Birch, i normally stack around 6 and us Olson PGTs #5. I found that these bladed last longer than any other blades I've tried so far.
  17. Welcome to the village Canuck45 from beautiful Vermont! (I lived in Montreal for 30 years before crossing). We thank you for your loyal services and are very honored you have you here! 20. Thank you for all the help. And let me extinguish all the fires about ethics!. I was asked to help in the restoration of an Organ from 1887. There is a broken piece of fretwork and a full 8" X 20" fretwork panel missing. Since I've never done any restore work before, I thought I'd ask here for some advice. I appreciate the concerns about the ethics but I don't think this is too much of the concern for this one.
  21. I have no experience doing and iam seeking advice on how to proceed. What do i need to do?
  22. I really love working with Ash. Here's a corner etagere that I made out of Ash 12 years back!!!
  23. Welcome to the village from Burlington, Vermont!
  24. 2000 lbs machine!! Shouldn't vibrate too much!!
  25. I Use exclusively Olson blades. If you use soft wood like Iggy does (Poplar, pine) the Mach speed are great. #3 or #5. But for hard wood Like Maple, Cherry, Walnut or Oak, I use Olson PGT #5, #7 or# 9. Depending on the thickness of the wood. For the Filigree hummingbirds, I would cut it on a 1/4" or 3/8" thick Oak, oak ply or BB. The blade I would use would be #5 or #7 PGT (Precision Ground Tooth). they leave an almost polished cut and would need very little sanding. For the Hummingbird pattern, If you cut it in 1/4", the the same blades as above. If cutting from 3/4" hard wood, I would use #7 or #9 PGT. Those are my preferences and the blades that I trust the most!.
