    I cut these last Friday during a slow time at ArtCrafters using the Pegas Scroll Saw and Pegas MGT #9 blades. The patterns are by Dave and Judy Peterson and found in there new book "Scroll Saw Baby Animals". I used 3/4" Aspen for the Lamb and 3/4" Walnut for the Playful Puppy. The finish is dipping in Boiled Linseed Oil. Comments welcome.

    Thanks Ralph. No I did not stack cut. It would be a challenge. I may give stack cutting these on the Pegas Scroll Saw a try.

    Thanks Dick. My favorite is the one made with Hard Maple. It is also the easiest to cut.

    Monday, November 4th, I finished four more ornaments. These are 8 through 11 of the set of 12. The patterns are by the late Dirk Boelman and purchased through Scroller Online. The first is made from 1/4" Bloodwood, the second from 1/4" Hard Maple, and the last two from 1/4" Padauk. These were cut on the EX21 with FD UR #1 blades. The finish is spray Polyurethane Clear Gloss. Comments welcome.

    Welcome to the forum. My store, ArtCrafters, is a distributor for Pegas so I may have a slanted view. My go to Saw is the EX21 and I found the Pegas similar. I completed several test cuttings on the Pegas with great results. My next test cutting will be compound cutting Miniature Birdhouse Ornaments.

    I too am a test cutter for the magazine. The latest is the Fall issue page46. I never would have cut these cute little Halloween characters as I am not into Halloween. They were fun to cut. I enjoy looking at the wonderful pieces of scrollers all over the world.

    Hi Randy. You are right, my old EX21 shows the same wear on the table. It is way too early for the Pegas as I completed four projects on the Pegas.

    Sorry about the EX giving fits. Several years ago, the upper arm on the EX21 broke and I got the replacement from Ray at Seyco. Other than that no problems with the EX21. As a distributor, the Pegas is at ArtCrafters for trials, demos, and lessons.

    I had a little free time at ArtCrafters this afternoon. Before even cutting, I noticed a difference in blades. Normally I use FD UR #5. The Pegas MGT #9 is close in size, so that is what I used to cut these puzzles. The zero point is right on. With puzzles, the blade must be perpendicular to the table. The puzzle pieces slide in and out in both directions. The Saw is extremely quiet. Most noise comes from the Seyco vacuum. There is very little vibration. What a joy to cut on this saw. More to follow when I work on other projects.

    I have two simple puzzles to cut on it today. So far very quiet and little vibration.
