  1. Jerry, that is a beautiful project. Outstanding cutting and finishing. As a Custom Framer, the shadowbox is very impressive.
  2. Dave, they all look great.
  3. I have heard of this, but never used this process.
  4. Thanks, Ike and Dick. The first time I used that frame.
  5. WOW Paul, that is great. Good to have fun sometimes.
  6. Well done, Jerry.
  7. Jay, those are awesome projects. I can see the love and time put into the projects.
  8. Well done, Ralph. As a framer, I agree with you. Maybe an old, antique frame for an old, antique retired firefighter. Just kidding.
  9. Thanks Jeff. What a surprise, someone came into ArtCrafters and bought the "Wolf Stare".
  10. This is why all my projects are small scroll saw art. No more heavy lifting.
  11. Thanks Ralph. The example in the book shows an oval backer, but I wanted to frame it.
  12. What a beautiful pattern and great cutting of a fragile piece.
  13. Thanks for all the nice comments. The frame is one of our in stock mouldings. It has a weathered look, but not quite barnwood.
  14. Thanks, Gordie. I thought it would look like fur on the wolf. The Walnut backing runs the opposite direction.
  15. Nice cutting, Jerry. I really like the shelf.
  16. Thanks Tim and Ron. Nice to frame with small leftover pieces,
  17. Thanks Frank, both for the nice comment and also the help in editing.
  18. Thanks everyone. Now how do I change the title. It should be 'Wolf Stare'.
  19. I finished this project on Monday, February 6th. The pattern is by Jacob Fowler and found in the new book "Woodworker's Pattern Book" by Wayne and Jacob Fowler. It is made from 1/4" Oak plywood overlay on 1/4" Walnut plywood. The dimensions are 8" x 10" not including frame. Of course, the frame was made at ArtCrafters. I used FD UR #1 blades. The finish is one coat of 50% BLO and two coats of spray Shellac. Comments welcome. Sorry, the title should be 'Wolf Stare'.
  20. You have been given really good advise. I can only tell what I do. I prefer FD Polar #7 blades for compound cutting. I don't use the clamping system. I use packing tape. Be sure and wrap extra tight after the first cut.
  21. Welcome to the forum from TN. My first saw was and still is the DeWalt. Well actually the second, but I returned the Hitachi after only a week. I also have the EX21.
  22. Welcome to the forum from TN. Lots of friendly folks here.
  23. As a custom framer, we use 10" 80 teeth blades on our mitre saws. We have two saws set at the appropriate 45 degrees.
  24. That looks great, Steve. I thought about doing that project. How much did the bank kit cost?
  25. I just finished the "Nosy Dragon Shelf Sitter" puzzle. It is solid 7/8" Cherry and I used 50% BLO/MS. If I want a hard finish, I will follow up with spray Polyurethane.
