    I finished this project on Monday, February 6th. The pattern is by Jacob Fowler and found in the new book "Woodworker's Pattern Book" by Wayne and Jacob Fowler. It is made from 1/4" Oak plywood overlay on 1/4" Walnut plywood. The dimensions are 8" x 10" not including frame. Of course, the frame was made at ArtCrafters. I used FD UR #1 blades. The finish is one coat of 50% BLO and two coats of spray Shellac. Comments welcome. Sorry, the title should be 'Wolf Stare'.

    You have been given really good advise. I can only tell what I do. I prefer FD Polar #7 blades for compound cutting. I don't use the clamping system. I use packing tape. Be sure and wrap extra tight after the first cut.

    Welcome to the forum from TN. My first saw was and still is the DeWalt. Well actually the second, but I returned the Hitachi after only a week. I also have the EX21.

    As a custom framer, we use 10" 80 teeth blades on our mitre saws. We have two saws set at the appropriate 45 degrees.

    I just finished the "Nosy Dragon Shelf Sitter" puzzle. It is solid 7/8" Cherry and I used 50% BLO/MS. If I want a hard finish, I will follow up with spray Polyurethane.

    Congrats on the new saw. I advance the lever until good tension, about half to two thirds lever movement. Like Bill says, "How it cuts".

    I also top feed, so it would not work for me. I have a DeWalt 788 and EX21, both in good condition. If I look at something new, maybe the new Seyco. SWWC will have a review in the next issue.

    I purchased a Sand-Flee several years ago and it is my go to sander after cutting. I still use the ROS, but less frequently.

    Thanks, Paul. Each piece needs to be 1 7/8" square and however long, so be sure and use a fairly soft wood. I had to do some sanding to get them to line up.

    This is one of five patterns by Sue Mey found in SWWC Spring 2017 issue #66. I cut this from Northern White Cedar. It is four compound cut pieces glued together to make one piece. It is approximately 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". I used FD Polar #9 blades, one coat 50% BLO and one coat spray Polyurethane. All I need now is an Air Plant. Comments welcome.
