I also stack cut 1/4” three high and use Pegas #1 MGT blades. As a test I used #1 MGT on 3/4” Hard Maple. Slow going, but cut without a problem. If interested, click the link below my signature.

I like items with a purpose and compound cutting, so years ago (actually January 2017), I made a compound cut Air Plant Holder. This is a Sue Mey pattern. The second picture is from the customer that purchased to item. What a fun category.
