  1. Nice job!
  2. It's been a long time since I've posted. Hard to get much time in the shop with a full time job and two little ones in the house. But I was able to get this pattern by Javenski completed here recently. Definitely enjoyed getting back to the saw!!!
  3. Just finished this sign for my cousin’s business. Everything is cut on the scroll saw. Blue and red stains for the flag. I did use blue and grey paint for the logo, and injected white paint into the bottom wording to help it show up. Two toddlers have really limited my time in the shop, but it’s been fun to get back to making sawdust!
  4. Great Job. And I agree it is a very fun one to cut. I did it a few years ago.
  5. Hello Everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in quite a while. Two young kids and a lot of work responsibilities have really cut into my shop time. Anyways, I was able to crank out these two graduation gifts. I used a couple of pictures from a friend to make both patterns. A couple of good kids who are headed off to college to continue their basketball careers. The frames are dyed pine. I was hoping to do the blue and gold (school colors) for both, but ran out of dye. .
  6. I know I'm late to the party, but am going to post anyways. These are the three sports projects I've done. The helmet pattern is probably from Wooden Teddy Bear, or Scrollers catalog, but I modified each with the Montana State and Redhawk logos. The Wide Receiver Pattern is one I made from picture I found online.
  7. Beautiful work as usual!!!
  8. Great Job!
  9. Great work!!! Always amazed by the quality of your stuff!
  10. I was asked to make this as a raffle prize for our county centennial. The logo was designed by a local artist. The backer is maple flooring I was able to salvage out of an old community hall that was torn down quite a few years ago. The logo and letters are actually oak ply, but I stained them with Minwax Dark Walnut stain to help them stand out more. Overal size is roughly 33" wide by 19" tall.
  11. Awesome Job!
  12. Well then, I will NOT tell you that I got it from Scrolleronline.com. I don't recall who the designer is, but could look through my patterns and see.
  13. I grew up on a farm/ranch here in NE Montana. Agriculture has been a huge part of my life. My brother and I definitely helped out/worked on the farm with Dad while growing up. After high school, I went on to college and majored in Animal Science and Ag Education. My first post graduate job was on a large cattle ranch in Central Montana. We most tasks the old way due to the efficency, ease, and cost of doing it that way. We worked and doctored the cattle horseback, even fed through winter with horse teams and sleds. Honestly, the most enjoyable I've ever had. I think if there had been more opportunity to grow and increased pay, I'd still be there. Now, I'm running the Credit Union back in my hometown, and we specialize in Ag Lending. I do get to help out my folks and some of the old neighbors whenever I want to get out of the office, but also get to do what I can to make our members' farming operations work financially. I think my passion for Ag and this area does show up some in my woodworking. I do quite a bit of work with old barnwood, and as you can see, do have quite a few farm/ranch based projects. I see that this topic was started in November, and apologize for not posting until now.

  23. Welcome!
  24. I agree, why would one cut all the character out of it? I end up making quite a few things out of it. Rustic is the in thing here at moment. It doesn't take some work to pull out nails and find wood that isn't too rotten to use, but generally it cuts fairly easily and isn't too bad to use.
