  1. Welcome Liz to the Village. From what I hear, you have a great saw. Like you, I’ve done a variety of different crafting and learning over the years. While I do have embroidery machines, I have stayed away from learning the digitizing my own patterns. As far as sewing, I’ve done some basic stuff, but left the real sewing to my mom who was the expert. It was when I lost her to Alzheimer’s that I turned to the scroll saw. That was soon to be 8 years ago.
  2. First, thank you and your son for your service. You have every reason to be a proud father. His dedication and drive to do as he dreamed as a 12 year old is admirable. He clearly had good parents. you are right, I do qualify for some “senior discounts” I just forget to claim them when I can.
  3. Nice work Dan. I’m sure your friend loves it.
  4. Glad your sister received it and loved it, but not surprised. Anyone would have. I hope Karol’s foot is continuing to heal, albeit slowly and sorry you had to miss going to your sister’s for Christmas. Prayers said for Karol’s foot healing well. (Hubby’s feet are healing as well, albeit too slowly for him. He has gotten both casts off and wearing boots but still on weight bearing thus in wheelchair for a while longer. Good news is e everything looks good so far. )
  5. A woman never tells her age Paul, you know that. Especially on a public forum. Really depends on what you call a “Senior” - what I find says it originally aired from Sept. 1965 to April, 1971. So I could have watched some of the original episodes towards the end of that original run (and may have as my dad may have watched .) I would have been a toddler when it first aired and under 10 when it last aired. I do recall watching many reruns over the years though including some recently.
  6. Or chalk works too looks good. I don’t see it as a devil, nor do I see it as not a smile.
  7. Hogan’s Heroes- Sgt Schultz (and I’m not that “senior” yet but watched plenty of reruns ) Glad you were able to “fix” your project Dave.
  8. Beautiful job. Your sister will love it.
  9. I think the answer to that ? Barb may depend upon how much of that fine wine Paul had been partaking of at that time which may have also been effecting his ability to see it at that time as well though I confess I had not been partaking myself and didn’t see it until you said what you saw, then I too saw it the same. Prior to that, I wasn’t sure what I saw.
  10. I’m with Paul.
  11. Welcome to the Village from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. Look forward to your participation.
  12. Nice work. Good luck with your show.
  13. Thanks for doing Travis. Look forward to checking them out. Sorry I was unable to help out this year.
  14. Beautiful work all around. I really like the tool box and your God box.
  15. Nice. You can watch sports while you scroll.
  16. Frank, nice work on your lab and all your other many projects you have been sharing. It’s not a “pester” to see your projects. I’ve been having to live vicariously as far as cutting and completing projects through all of you for many months now. Enjoy your holidays, Thanksgiving with your daughter and son-in-law and the cruise to follow. Cookie exchange with neighbors and giving them your ornaments should go over well. Then a trip to Branson for the Christmas week should round out your adventures well and you will look forward to some “down time” in your shop I am sure. Happy holidays to you and yours .
  17. Thanks for finding it Dan. With the tag words you found he used, I found his blog post from when he posted them (I always like to find his blog post for an item) here: https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2021/09/christmas-decorations-scroll-saw.html

    Santa

I just checked the pattern library here in the Village and didn’t see it there.
  19. Excellent pieces Pete. Now you know, we need to see the one that is missing, that is pretty special and then need to know why?
  20. Lots of beautiful work that took lots of time is displayed there Dan. So glad you pr sales were so good for you. Perhaps being at the back was a good thing, by the time they got back to you, they had done all their “window shopping,” knew they had seen everything and knew you had the best so they were ready to buy. Congratulations on selling those two big price point items.
  21. Stunning piece. Can’t imagine making one, much less 5 of them even f over the years.
  22. Congratulations and I’m sure your wife was quite conflicted about it. are you going to make another one for her?
  23. Nice work Frank.
  24. I took Intarsia classes from Judy Gale Roberts. She uses a light duty double sided carpet tape for sanding shims, temporary holds needed so that is what I learned to use. It works well. Any stronger than light duty band it’s hard to get parts back apart.
  25. Yes, it has been quite the. “Adventure” he’s now about 3 1/2 weeks out from his surgeries and has had the stitches removed from both feet as of last FRI. He’s doing pretty good and has adjusted pretty well to the wheelchair and both feet and lower legs in casts now. He’s been working on carving, playing guitar, shop layout plans, and remodel plans for the house. He’s in good spirits and says he doesn’t miss work at all. I did get the scrollsaw with the Festool up and running last week but I need to get a top dust port setup like you guys have done. Right now, I just have the Festool under the bottom. I cut out a turtle that I wanted to carve. It was nice to do something even if it was just a quick cut.
