  1. Nice job Dan, can you send some inspiration this way please.
  2. Nice job Barb. You are doing great with your Intarsia, Judy would have loved seeing it. We lived on two different lakes over the past 25+ years. (Moved from lake anbout a year and a half ago now though.) Both places we had blue herons that regularly camped out on our boat dock. They are beautiful creatures. Which is why I bought that pattern years ago, one day perhaps I’ll get to it. (live has been in my way for the last two years but finally getting my saws and sanders set back up in our new location.) hopefully I can get back to some scrolling and Intarsia soon. Seeing you work and others gives me motivation,
  3. Another Tennessee welcome to the Village.
  4. Welcome home Don. Glad you are working your way back.
  5. Thank you bot. I had a good dinner cooked by hubby with one child and her new husband. Missed my other child, he lives out of state (and had just been in 2 weeks prior for sister’s wedding) so talked to him on the phone.
  6. Awesome work Kevin.
  7. I have not, and think I used bloodwood in an Intarsia project once. However, my husband had a problem with some wood once, got respiratory issues if I recall correctly. Then had a brotherin-law who had used Cocobolo in a turning project as I recall. He got really sick.
  8. I'm following along - my daughter is getting married in a few months and I've been thinking about making a ring box for whomever is going to carry and present the wedding rings at the ceremony( maybe ). She hasn't decided last I knew if she was having a flower girl and/or ring bearer. Kevin, keep me in mind if you find any great plans for any.
  9. Another Tennessee Welcome.
  10. Another Tennessee Welcome home.
  11. Great job all around.
  12. Another beautiful piece Frank. I know you like to do hummingbirds for your lovely lady, I assume she was the lucky recipient of this piece.
  13. Beautiful box she will treasure. Belated. Birthday wishes to her. My son share’s the same birthday. He was 28.
  14. I’m sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. Prayers for his family. Thanks for letting us know.
  15. Beautiful piece. I lost my 11 year old golden earlier this year. Best dog I ever had. Miss her everyday.
  16. Belated wishes to you a Ray and all our friends here in the Village. May each of you have a blessed and Happy New Year.
  17. Belated wishes to you and yours Marge. May you have a happy and blessed New Year.
  18. Well, your ahead of me Paul! Nice work. Excellent tip on removing just the pattern off the tree to get it stained. I'll have to remember that should I ever do something similar!. I'm getting closer to getting a project or two started.
  19. Issue 97, Winter 2024 literally just came out and with Barb in Canada, she may not have her’s yet (I got mine end of last week). The issue with Janette Square’s intarsia pattern of the mouse on the leaf was in the prior one, Issue 96, Fall 2024 on page 55. The article is entitled “Riding the Wind.” Barb, you did excellent work on all your projects. I have finally got my saws accessible and I will have to try some pieces soon. Intarsia may have to wait a bit though until I get my skill set back up to speed.
  20. Nice work Frank. I can see the sentiment to your work. Your planned companion poem and piece will be the perfect piece with both commemorating the family island.
  21. Frank, first, glad to hear that you all had little to minimal impact from the recent hurricanes. Second, a cute turtle that the young boy is going to enjoy
  22. Thanks for checking Kevin and letting us know. Prayers for his family during the loss of Jim.
  23. Lots of beautiful work there Pete. Good luck with your shows.
  24. @Denny Knappen any experience or knowledge on these blades?
  25. Dave, I wanted to say I’m sorry to hear of your loss of your wife in April from Alzheimer’s. I know a bit of the battle you had as my mom suffered from that same horrible disease. When she passed, 8 years ago now, is when I found solace in the scrollsaw. I’m sorry you had your issues compounded by having your own health issue with a tumor in your head. I pray that you are recovering well and can find some joy in using your saw. Bob, glad to hear you were able to get help from Denny in getting your Pegas saw ordered. Let us know how you like it when it arrives.
