    I voted it in the poll, but wanted to say I like the unpainted one. Both are good, but I prefer the natural wood look over just painting the dragonflies.

    Yea, thanks to everybody who has joined in. I am so excited to see what has been provided this year for the 10th anniversary edition. One more person can take us over last year’s number and have 12 and a new record. What a simple way to say thanks to Travis for all he does for us with the Village. I know we can do it. With 12 folks, each submitting 5 patterns gives the book 60 new patterns.

    That's the truth. I learned that from my mother - she was the seamstress. There were 4 kids - we quickly learned DO NOT touch her "GOOD" Scissors!

    Kevin, you gotta learn to take breaks and walk away and rest for a bit. we don't want you back in the hospital or worse. Now, that said, these look nice and will indeed make great ornaments. I would probably just put on a clear finish that shows the beauty of the wood.

    Hmm, I think you and my husband fortunately went to the same school. The other “lesson” he tells newly engaged young men is a few simple words to learn, “yes dear.” but then also points out that on a few rare occasion, those two words can get you in trouble, usually he says when she asks does this make me look fat? For those rare occasions like that, he says the correct reply is you always look beautiful dear. May be why we have been happily married for more than 34 years.

    Nice work Frank. I won't let my dog see it - she seems to love to chase the squirrels that seem to have recently invaded our yard. We were recently camping and she went with us, lots of squirrels around that she loved to "tree" - so much so, that we were staying a couple of days at Disney's campground and I got a coffee mug from the movie where the dog is always distracted by the squirrel!

    Glad to see that you were able to be treated quickly, and well, and had no residual damage and you are back on the saw. I am sure the pharmacist was thrilled with the gift as it is very nice. Take it easy and give yourself time to fully recover.

    So close to the golden number of 10 - we need at least 1 more to make Travis' Christmas wish come true and have 10 pattern designers create 5 patterns each for the 10th anniversary edition. They don't have to be complicated, I aim mine toward the "beginner" level usually - just find a "theme" and its easy to come up with 5 ideas.
