    In 1957 I was 18 and worked for Boeing in Seattle and got a whopping $3.00 an hour union wages. I thought I was filthy rich. In the 8th grade I worked in a country newspaper as a printer's devil for $.35 an hour. At least I had a job. Also turned windrows for farmers when in high school. $5 for a looooong Saturday's work. Back then I was taught the WORK ethic. Too bad it is not taught any longer.

    Thanks Rolf. I just came home with the 1 gallon compressor from HF. On sale for $106. I'll try it in the morning. I considered the 2 gallon. Only $50 more but the size and weight discouraged me. It's not heavy but still I would not be able to lift it. Also it needs to slide under my bench next to my feet. It is nice and compact.

    It has not. When I first applied moisture I really soaked the cupped side. Next morning it cupped the opposite way lifting very heavy weights. I re-moistened the cup side but just barely. Placed a board on it with weights and it straightened real well. Trick I think is to only very slightly or sparingly dampen the wood. Hopefully when I do this again its not me that's all wet!

    Mine is cupped about the same as yours. I lightly moistened the cupped side, laid the cupped side down and placed a thick plywood with weight on it. Flattened out in a few hours. I do love the wood.

    Love the pattern and the wood. Nice job. Do you find the wood cupped? I ordered the same wood from him. Mine is cupped but is easily corrected.

    My wife does not handle heat well so our AC Billie out the roof. She has a thing that she drapes around her neck with two small fans to help keep her cool. The little fans work well. Some folks around here use swampers but would not work with your high humidity. Move to Colorado.

    Would this compressor operate a 22ga pin nailer? I have a HF pancake compressor which I rarely use because of the extreme noise. The price is excellent .

    Uh Oh, I did it backwards. Out to the shop tonight to undo it.

    I'm just trying to unwarp a board. I wet the convex side and placed weight on it. Is that the right thing or should I have wet the concave side?

    I have not found one coat solutions. For me it's spray, sand, spray, sand spray. That's a minimum for me. The first layer raises a bit of wood fiber. Subsequent layers are smoother. I usually have a terrible time with finishing. Guess I'm not patient enough.
