I am surprised that the moderators are letting this post go on but since they have I will voice my opinion. Atheistism and people getting from God and country is what is wrong with this country (USA) today. Today it seems any thing goes. I truly believe that if there was a small group of people that wanted to marry their pets it would okay ""if"" there is that word. If it would get votes. If we don't wake up the Atheist and Isis will take over this country. I don't see why anyone would want to make anything related to Atheist or Isis.
This is my opinion and I am sticking to it.
We have a niece that majored in marketing at college plus has a gift for what people like. She is 50 but seems to know what all ages of people like (women that is). Last year about this time she set up at (well I really don't know what). She had among other things 125 T-shirts that she paid $9 for and sold them for $24.95 and sold out early. I made a small cross on my scroll saw that I thought would make a nice necklace and she said they wouldn't sell. She said while some ladies would like it most would not. Now I wasn't wanting to sell them I just wanted to make something to give away at Christmas. You know maybe get a few hugs. I like hugs. So in my opinion a person needs to do good work and have things people like and can't do without.
That is the $64,000 question that I can't answer.
I agree it will darken the wood some but so will water, mineral spirits, and many other finishes. I do agree it takes a little more effort than lacquer. Lacquer is so easy it should be called cheating but I like it.
I am building this Christmas Santa and his sleigh and it has a bunch of little parts. I have got some Weld Bond glue but I was thinking about using CA glue. Opinions needed please.
For about an hour my truck was half on the road and half off. Traffic was pretty heavy. After the transmission cooled off I made it 500 feet to a place where I could pull off. I bet a bunch of people were mad at me for holding them up.
I agree Jerry but I am also hard of hearing. Over 90% of the time I don't get 5 or 10 miles from the house. I think I might start using my wife's cell when I take a trip. (If she will let me)
I will tell the bad news first. On the way back from Franklin which is around 30 miles from where I live the transmission wnt out on my truck. I was on a two lane road with very little shoulder. I finally made it to a place so I could pull over and then I walked about 200 yards where I borrowed a cell phone and called my wife. So now the truck is towed and I am home and have been playing with my new EX 16. Man you talking about smooth and quite. My DW788 must have been in really bad shape. But I did buy it new and new it was junk. So there you go a bad day and a good day.
PS - No I don't have a cell phone and don't really want one. Money for cell phones equals less money for tools.
