  1. The state of my crazy…I am like that dog that sees a squirrel! I have a few things that I started and not finished. I am going to try to get these things finished before I begin again. I DO lead a monthly Scroll Saw Club. I already have a challenge peace for the month completed, it’s jewelry. So, let’s see if I can get some of these finished before the next club meeting. I also completed a candle holder for my general woodworking club challenge. OH! There is also that whirligig I started….
  2. It is a Diane Thompson pattern book. I can’t find that one right now. But, I believe it also had the apple and worm in it. I also made the mini grandfather clock that was in that one. FOUND IT! Compound Scroll Saw Creations. By Diana Thompson.
  3. I agree, something is wrong with your set up. I routinely have people practice on 1/4” plywood. Your blade is dull, backwards….
  4. I JUST went to Seyco.com. You do have to order at least two sets. The order with 2 sets is Subtotal $17.00 Shipping USPS First Class: $5.95 Total $22.95 $17.00 PayPal Pay via PayPal. Your personal data will be used to process your order, support your experience throughout this website, and for other purposes described in our Privacy policy. Maybe try again.
  5. This is a Charles Hand design. Cut in 1/8” Baltic Birch plywood. Hobby Lobby frames.
  6. Well done!
  7. I would CA glue it from the back. It won’t crack more and won’t show.
  8. I am curious to see how it works for support while cutting fretwork. I currently use a second sheet of 1/8” ply for that but, I usually end up with two good pieces when I am finished. Sometimes they are not identical, nobody usually notices. It might be good when I want to cut something small out of a piece of 1/8” that really only needs one. Or something really small out of something.
  9. They are a hazard. Remove them. If you want one I have a few in a drawer somewhere.
  10. Cardboard will show ridges. I tried it. Didn’t like it. You want it to look smooth.
  11. Those are awesome! I do love trains!
  12. I hope that works for you!
  13. I don’t fill the bottle completely. About halfway. I wonder if that’s the problem with the seals.
  14. I have seen many segmentation projects made in MDF. I haven’t tried it myself
  15. Makes you wonder why the manufacturer didn’t see a problem.
  16. Hopefully we can pop in and say Hi this year!
  17. I use the clamp Steve Good showed how to make. A couple pieces of wood a couple bolts and wing nuts. I don’t have to use tape all the time with that. When I do, I am very careful about putting tape on the side that hasn’t been cut.
  18. No, nothing else. I have dipped a second time to see if it made a difference. The difference was small. A little more shine and color.
  19. I use one from Walmart. Nothing special.
  20. Real nice!
  21. Mineral spirits. I keep some in a spray bottle just for this purpose. Spray it on the paper, wait a bit, take the paper off. Spray again and wipe to clean up any residue.
  22. Definitely start with 1” cut. Sticker and let dry. This CAN take months. After it’s dry you will have to cut off any checks (cracks). Then you can start to plane and sand.
  23. The local shop like office max could probably print them for you as well.
  24. I have two favorites. One is a Carole Rothman bowl I made. NEVER thought in a million years that I would make one! The other is a Jim Blume pattern that got a blue ribbon at the state fair!
