  1. Ike the pegas clamp for the Dewalt and Delta saws is only $64 because the tension lever is not used on that version. I kept the original ones, but the pegas is made a lot better. I don't see the pagas clamps wearing out anytime soon.
  2. Great news that he will recover and be able to work at a craft he loves to do.
  3. I just received and installed new Pegas blade clamps on my delta 40-694 scroll saw. It took less than 15 minutes to install. They work great and are made very well. I will give a complete review after using them for awhile.
  4. Just received the new Pegas blade clamps. Took less the 15min to install. So far they seem to work fine, I will review them after some long term use.
  5. Awesome three day event. It's nice to have great sales but on the flip side you get to slave away making more puzzles. I hope your shop is cool.
  6. Great news! I hope you have strong to keep you cool. If it gets to bad then point the fan at a cooler full of ice and enjoy the homemade ac.
  7. Check out Steve Carmichael's web site or YouTube on the stand he made.

    Delta 40-694

I started having a noise problem and tracked it down to loose motor bolts. I tightened them and now it purrs like a kitten with no further issues. I think it going to be a great saw to use. When it comes time to lubricate the bearings it tears down easy so I foresee no problems with the maintenance.

    Delta 40-694

I have had mine for about a month. The saw work great and my son loves how smoothly in runs. I made my own light cost me $13.00 and a turned base and magnet. I would include a pick but don't know how.

    Delta 40-694

I just ordered a 40-694 to replace my 40-560 from Home Depot because you can't beat $359 with free shipping. I will give an update on how good it is after using for awhile. I will compare it to Dewalt 788 and the Excalibur 16 that my woodworking club has. So far at the club Dewalt 788 is the choice. The Excalibur 16 is used very little do to the fact it's new and most of the scroll saw people are not familiar with it.
  11. Right now pegas MG bladesare my choice. It is interesting about the history of Flying Dutchman blades. When I get ready to order more blades I will try the Niqua brand but it sounds like they are FD's original blade. Maybe Niqua wants to cut the middleman out of the equation.
  12. Hope your summer goes great and is a sell out. Best wishes on Harvey having a speedy recovery.
  13. Glad you won't be down long. My backup is the woodworking club's two scroll saws, a Dewalt 788 & an Excalibur 16".
  14. Well the weather finally broke here in Indiana so maybe it is on your way. 60's & 70's the rest of the week in northern Indiana some rain which means no yard work on those days. You need to get busy no need to sleep for the next two weeks. Good luck on the 4th of July event.
  15. Looks great!
  16. Hope everyone has a great Father's Day.
  17. Put some paste wax on the table it will help the boards slide through the planer easier. Good luck on your quest for thinner boards.
  18. 1/4” should be no problem I have plane to an 1/8” without any difficulty. If I want thinner than an 1/8” I use my drum sander.
  19. Kevin when I retired from teaching I had to pay the whole tab for insurance until I turned 65 last November. I know where you're coming from. I paid 2190 a month for over two years. I made too much from my pension and social security for much of a reduction, so I stayed on the schools insurance paid the 2190 a month. Good luck on your jointer quest. You can setup a router table to act like a jointer by offsetting the outfeed side fence.
  20. Awesome piece of engineering, simple and effective. Good job!
  21. I have a delta stand but still made modifications that could be a used to make a Dewalt stand fit. The try has become a good sawdust collector and scrap holder. It seems help keep the mess in one location.
  22. It's awesome to see kids in the shop. I see a future scroll saw artist if technology doesn't get the best of her.
  23. It's too small when you can't see it.
