  1. There are many ways to light up your saw. You have to find what works for you. One of these mounted on your saw will work. These lamps are cheap, and if you use an LED bulb, it can be very bright and not generate heat to amount to anything. I have one clamped to the back of my saw. They cost around $20.
  2. I have sewing machine lights on my EX-21 for more than a year. As far as I can tell they are not causing a problem. They don't weigh much.
  3. Best I can do.
  4. I have the Lee Valley router base. I purchased the whole kit because I have other needs than drilling holes.
  5. The link goes to the shopping cart.
  6. I have three Bauer sanders, two random orbit sanders, and one 1/4-sheet orbital sander. I bought these so I would not need to change paper between grits and because they were the only ones I could find that had a round dust port that I could adapt quickly for connecting to my shop vacuum. They work well enough but are in a different class than my Hitachi sander.
  7. Here is a template I tried for a while. The finishing nails mark the location for drilling and hold the template in place. I stopped using this method because it was easier and faster to set a custom page size in Inkscape to the wood size and arrange the patterns to fit. Print it and apply it to the wood.
  8. I use templates fro positioning parts.
  9. I used templates for many years until I got a scanner. Now the box with the templates collects dust. Paper patterns are much easier and produce more accurate results. Templates are not very good for projects with multiple parts that must fit together precisely. I convert every pattern to SVG, where I can easily change the pattern size, color, or width of the lines.
  10. Yes, it will work great for cutouts. 3/4-inch is better because they will stand up better. I have made approximately 2000 animal cutouts over the years. It's an excellent way to use up small pieces of wood, and kids love them. I learned to use a scroll saw cutting animal shapes.
  11. Take you a glass of water Make it against the law See how good the water tastes When you can't have any at all CCR
  12. Toy Airplane Jet Fighter Cut from some random reclaimed plywood. Another one requested by my grandson.
  13. Biplane cut from Luan plywood. My grandson wanted this and the Luan was the only thing I had available. I figure it would be broken in short order but it is still going after more than a year. It is surprisingly strong.
  14. Layered Ornament Candles Holly
  15. Christmas Nativity Platform Ornament
  16. Lasers/CNC are just tools.
  17. I have blade holder that has gone missing. The blade snapped and it vanished into the shop. It is good to have extras.
  18. It can be worth the effort.
  19. If the scroll saw runs, I would buy it. If it has seen hard use, I would offer less. If the saw is like new or gently used, I would pay $400 for it and drive away with a smile. Seyco has all of the parts and phone support.
  20. I had to replace the switch on mine.
  21. The snowflakes are so distracting that I find it extremely difficult to read or type in a comment. It's like I have bugs crawling around on my screen. I am typing this somewhere else and pasting it in. I was trying to search but found that I could not effectively read the results and gave up.
  22. I used my first-ever spiral blade yesterday. It must have taken me 20 minutes or more to get it in the clamps. Is there some method for mounting spiral blades that I missed?
  23. What are you using to blow off your saw? Compressed air from a good air compressor should blow off most dust. If you want to detail your saw, I recommend an old-fashioned saving brush and a vacuum with a small nozzle.
  24. Ornaments sell poorly for me, too. My ornaments sell very slowly. The competition is fierce. A search on Etsy for "Christmas Ornament" returns 2,366,961. Add to this; you are also competing with all the commercially produced ornaments.
