  1. Thanks for the topic I just got into my new batch of #3 MG I did notice less fuzzies on the back side . They cut ok but time will tell. I had been using #1 MG in double ply of 1/4 inch they cut well but are a little flimsy in that much wood.
  2. I bought a Type 1 7 years ago, I was told it had hardly been used and sat in a barn storage for years, $225 with stand, the table was rusted but cleaned up real good. I used it lots before I done a regrease . had switch issue so ordered a new switch but in the mean time carefully took the old switch apart cleaned readjusted , the new switch finally came and now sits in my tool box. I did buy a new Seyco last spring it is a good saw as well. So the Dewalt doesn't get as much use now. the arm lifts higher on the Seyco which is a nice feature but I do prefer the blade tensioner system on the Dewalt as it is right up front.
  3. possibly the circuit board .
  4. I live in Canada , tried Denny out, service great/ excellent ,prices good/ excellent, delivery is about 10 days about the same as from Mike's. I like the idea of buying from a fellow hobbyist that I can relate to and that shares ideas on forums such as this. Delivery rates are about $10.00 bucks in U.S currency or $13 in Canadian dollar, very good as I receive the blades thru regular mail.
  5. Grew up with farming life, dad had me driving tractor when I was 9 , pulling harrows, the newborn in his field stopped me for chat, he pulled out his pack of uptown cigarettes gave me one as we needed a smoke break. Life was never better then that day. Patterns and cuttings I just looked at are precious memories from a skilled craftsmen, thank you
  6. Like the idea, ordered paid through Paypal went to download and my computer blocked it so what do I do now? I doubt if the program contains malicious things.
  7. I bought the new Seyco drill last May, really satisfied with it, much handier than the press drill and much less bit breakage I do take it apart occaisionally and put a spray polish in the sliding tube to help it slide smoother.
  8. Awe You guys got my stomach begging and won't quiet down and the candy store doesn't open for a couple of hours.
  9. thanks for the replies, I had a Senior moment and forgot there was a Pattern Request Forum and Jim, appreciate the quick pattern, I downloaded and printed a copy, It printed a bit fuzzy, however, it is quite usable.. That era of Classic Cars was great to live through, we could tinker with the carberator screws, file and set the points and turn the distributer to make it run smooth like a new scroll saw. There was no need for diagnostic computers just a good ear and mechanical mind. The Bonneville, I recall was a large smooth riding boat on wheels that could take a lot of polish. Thanks Johnny, you introduced me to Sam Custodio site some time ago, it is a wealth vault of good patterns but no 65 Bonneville.
  10. I am looking for a pattern for a 65 Bonneville 2 door convertible can anyone help me> Thanks
  11. My heart reaches to you, depression is such a difficult thing and harder yet to understand, been there, our family has touches of it, a work mate of mine lost two sons to depression and said years later it is like looking at a mountain in a rear view mirror so big and beautiful , as time slips away the mountain is smaller but surrounded be a gorgeous aura . Thanks for sharing and as you can see you are not alone.
  12. well done
  13. You done good, I cut one but got mixed up in assembly so it sits on the shop bench as a reminder, will do another one
  14. Thanks for sharing , looks good as it sits now , framed would also be good. I copied and saved the picture as my son is a Chiefs fan, maybe I will do something like it if that is o.k with you Norm Fengstad, Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Canada
  15. beautiful piece.
  16. My Dewalt developed a knock when under load , done a complete grease up of all points, I did find the sleeve on the bearing just out from the motor pitman drive had signs of wear. Every bearing took a lot grease, changed the sleeve still knocked . Probably should have changed the bearing as well. Have used now some 8 months, knock has got any worse, but did push me to buy a knew machine but "Old Yeller" still does a good job and is my machine for dog puzzles.
  17. I have laminated birch bark onto 1/8th and 1/4 bb but use Titebond 11 ,works good , never tried a spray on glue, I think overspray would be to messy
  18. Glad to see you are healing, and thanks for sharing, it is so important to develop shop safety attitudes. Your pictures of the injury will be a mindful image every time I use CA glue.
  19. thanks for the info on spirals, I have several frustrating portraits destined for the fire place But have gotten much better with practice. I was going to buy some pegas ones but now I won't bother, I bought from Mike's and from Garnet Hall Intarsia. the blades are probably Niqua. prices are similar, Garnets was 36.50 Canadian dollars for a gross so u.S would be much less and no tax his shipping has been the best.
  20. I have a Seyco, purchased in May. The tension adjustment knob at the back of the saw will back off during cutting and the blade tension will be reduced . when this happens hockey stick distortion occurs sometimes. I find this very frustrating.
  21. "Old crow scrollwerks." I went to my Paypal account ( by clicking on the transaction #)info and found the transaction had not been deposited into Old Crow account, so I cancelled payment. and money was returned to my credit card. It appears that Old crow has cancelled out with Pay pal. It is unfortunate the "old Crow" site is still posted on Google. Anyone know how to have Google take down their web site?
  22. Mineral spirits is good I, there is a short drying time after using, found spray with diesel starting fluid works really good as well.
  23. Thanks for the replies, after posting, I found the previous, extensive discussion. It would appear that this person is unable to fill the orders due to family/ aging issues. So now I need to follow my money trail to see if the money gets deposited into an account account. To bad as his patterns are excellent.
  24. I recently found "oldcrow scrollwerks" on line they are a pattern provider . their site offers patterns in digital form to be emailed. I ordered , received confirmation of payment from paypal and confirmation from the provider at time of order but now six days later still waiting to have my order filled. am I to impatient?
