  1. excellent work!
  2. cross between a wave and a boomerang is what I get out of it in addition to the plain pleasure of seeing it and processing it...
  3. gorgeous! well cut!
  4. Some of what I posted here in the bragging threads along with others that I have had for some time....I suppose I should just bite the bullet and have a gallery started on this site.
  5. I am... At a cool little breakfast and brunch cafe in my local town of new Westminster just outside of Vancouver. I hung 16 pieces up this morning before it opened to customers. Lots of interest after day one. Wicked comments, gonna go have brunch in the morning to hang out, going to go solo and hang out at the breakfast bar... I have enough pieces to rotate stock all month...
  6. Nicely done!
  7. Not sure if it's like a wave, a few have said it reminds them of a wave but anyway it's really neat, was going to put it on a neon background but it didn't work IMO.... Cut from oak kitchen cabinet door. Lost daylight had to use flash...added a alight pic
  8. Calling this one vortex, or tunnel I suppose. Cut from old oak kitchen cabinet door 1/2 inch. Lost daylight had to use flash... And then one without flash the opposite direction... Edit added pics with daylight
  9. love the work, the walnut was a perfect wood for this piece. When you buffed the piece were you not highly concerned that one of the delicate/fragile pieces would catch and be ruined? I am that is why I just sand the snot out of the pieces before I cut and just put multiple layers of poly on after. I really like the frame, what is between the piece and the frame? Looks like a real thin piece of black something. It really helps the piece pop IMO. where in northwestern ontario? I grew up in Thunder bay excellent work!
  10. nicely done Kevin, what kind of wood are the letters mounted on? also wonder if you did the UtOpia sign with the tree of life as the O great work, you seem to be a master letter/writing scroller...
  11. I have done this, picked up that tip a few months ago while watching a video on you tube
  12. it would be helpful for you to post a picture of what you are intending to make....
  13. I have been in contact with King in the past couple days. The excelsior is made to the same specs as the Excalibur was and in the exact same factory. I hope to have more information in the coming days.
  14. Thanks all!
  15. welcome! I am also new here but feel like I have been here longer as a result of people bing so friendly! I have been scrolling for under two years and its a great hobby! Its a great way to challenge yourself.

    Hello

Welcome! I am about to get an excelsior just need to decide on the 21 or 30...take your time in upgrading and if your doing a lot of fretwork then blade changes are crucial! I had a Hegner multimax 18 (sold it and kept my Dewalt), loved the way the saw cut but doing fretwork on it was a pain in the ass due to blade changes. I would also suggest you have a look at the new jet 21 it seems really good from the reviews I have seen.

    Games ON!

    I like them a lot!
  18. Did not know what I was going to do to finish this guy but I decided to go with a black shadow box to bring our the darker Ray's in the oak. Pleased with the final product!
  19. spectacular piece! very well done

    thanks Kevin
  21. https://www.feldercanada.com/product/excelsior-21-professional-scroll-saw-with-foot-switch so federal canadas website is stating the following bolded right on there webpage; The new Excelsior 21" Scroll Saw is our replacement for the almost impossible to find Excalibur 21" Scroll Saw. This saw is not a knock off, as it is being manufactured to the same specifications by the same factory that was manufacturing the Excalibur Scroll Saw line. I wonder why I have not been able to find a single review of the excelsior....kinda frustrating actually... EDIT; I decided to write an email to King canada suggesting that I review the saw... I hope they bite....
  22. I figured I would try a bracelet cut from corian, turned out pretty good for the first attempt....
  23. I do not think stack sitting would work with this as it is so delicate and it is cut from 3/4 inch stock.
  24. thanks!, I think its about time you see Star Wars....
