Wood is some 50 year old pine from shelves we just replaced in our carport room. Pattern is a stencil image from Pinterest. Very time consuming font. The first M took 6 pilot holes.
Dick, your work is outstanding. Your talent goes far beyond cutting on the line! I also cut most things only once and they are usually either for my shop wall or as gifts to family and friends. I just need to make sure they don't see your work or they'll feel cheated. Thanks for sharing your artwork with us!
I used a FDUR#7. I'd like to make one from cedar. I think I've got some 3/4 I could glue up. I'm using the oak because it's all I had that was big enough, plus hopefully tough enough to last many Christmases.
No, I'm not doing the alphabet. These are for Amos and Bella. The next ones will be for Ryder and Saige so I'll be keeping the alphabetical order theme going. Made with 1 1/2" Red Oak. Pattern is on Steve's page, Scroll Saw Workshop.
Recognize these bespectacled eyes yet? I'll post the finished pic when I'm done. *** Finished***Most people got it right. Glad he was recognizable from his eyes and nose. I did the pattern, sort of. I've found if you take a good picture to a pencil drawing generator site it gets it pretty close. I play with it a little in Paint 3D and then decide some of what to cut as I go. I like how it worked out on this one anyway. The pattern I used wouldn't really be good enough to share but feel free to make a copy of my cutting and use it as a pattern if you'd like.
Thanks Marg. She and her adult daughter were home, and got out unharmed. I heard the pets did not. She had her car full of her mother's things and it burned also. It's actually my son-in-laws aunt so I'm a little sketchy on the details.
