    You thought of that quicker than me. I was through cutting it before I thought of it. I guess it hadn't occurred to me that they were all African animals. I think I could pull off drawing Africa so I may try that some day.

    I saw this done on Etsy as a paper cutting. I contacted the artist and they directed me to https://depositphotos.com/2596200 to purchase the image. The animals don't pop quit as much as I'd like but such is life huh. The cutting is 3/8" red oak and the frame is made from 3/4 red oak.

    I loved @Nickel Falls's cutting so I found the image and did my take on it. I made it with the intention of selling it in the fundraiser I'm doing next weekend, but I don't think I can part with it. Reminds me too much of holding my dad's hand during church and marveling at the size and toughness of it. Also my grands are at the age where they hold my little finger too. It's on a piece of 1/2" red oak with a live edge.

    I don't do much stack cutting because I usually use hardwood. This was my first time cutting BB plywood and after many hours of cutting it was nice to have a pair. I cut these for a local 5K run for Childhood Cancer. One is a door prize and one will be sold to raise money. The backer is felt. The frame I made with some picture frame moulding a friend gave me. I don't like making frames! They are about 15" X 15". My favorite is the darker one.

    If you're looking for bright colors I really like Folkart Ultra dye. You can find it at Walmart.com, Amazon, etc. These cars were done with it.

    About a year ago I saw an Elvis portrait in @wombatie's album that I really liked. I asked and she didn't remember where it came from. I finally tracked down the original picture it came from and used it and Marg's cutting to make a new pattern. In the original picture Elvis had on a tie which didn't seem Elvisish. I added a sideburn and a little detail to it. If anyone's interested I am going to add it to the Pattern Library. Pardon my old school pattern making.

    Those both look great and the likenesses are spot on. I'm a fan of both detailed and minimalistic patterns. Done well both can be very impressive. Good job!

    Thanks! The wood is 1/2"ish red oak. The picture is almost square, about 6 X 6 1/2. The pattern is in the pattern library. I added some detail here and there.

    Thanks Melanie. Much better reward than something as common as money! The money would be long gone by now but the warm feeling lives on.

    I cut this pattern by @wild bill a little over a year ago. When I showed it to a widow woman who lives on my street she hugged it and said she loved Festus so I no longer have it. I cut it again today and added a few details around the nose and forehead. This will be going back on my shop wall to replace the other one. No western loving widow women allowed to view it.
