  1. Probably my favorite book. A while back I thought the book cover would make a pretty good pattern. Not really what I envisioned but it turned out OK, especially since I'm a big fan. Reminds me of a quote from another favorite book. A Prayer For Owen Meany-"Nothing bears out in practice what it promises incipiently."
  2. Very, very nice!
  3. Nice job! I love her work.
  4. Great job! I love original stuff like that.
  5. Great job! I was also inspired by that post. Been looking for wood with a story to tell.
  6. Very cute critters. Great job!
  7. Very nice job cutting that! Happy picture.
  8. Smooth cutting! Really like the nursing symbol.
  9. Nice job! Always fun to have a new tool.
  10. Ha! I wondered if anyone would notice. I did the two Marvel's first and then Batman so I knew I needed to pick out another DC. Turns out there aren't that many DC hero logos that are ideal for inlay. Not at my skill level anyway. I decided on Superman but it took two tries.
  11. Beautiful job cutting that!
  12. Lots of nice work there!
  13. Thanks Dave. Yes they are, not very forgiving though. The Superman one was my second try. The first time I made one cut clockwise when I was supposed to be cutting counter clockwise. I'm happy with it now but the pilot holes showed up pretty badly. I mixed Red Paduk sawdust with wood glue to fill it and it looked good till it dryed and turned really dark. Oh well, a talented carpenter once told me, "If you try to make it perfect it will usually turn out pretty good."
  14. Well right now in Alabama I need someone to crochet me an umbrella! Almost need a boat to get to my shop. I thought about making a holder but I'm leaning towards not. My mind changes with the weather though so who knows. She's planning to give them to her husband for Christmas so I'm not in a rush. As for me getting the better deal, money wise-yes, time-probably not. RT! (you know)
  15. I made this set of coasters as a gift for someone I went to high school with who now lives in Washington state. Long way from Alabama. She didn't like the idea of them being free so she's crocheting me a toboggan. Much cooler than money!
  16. Excellent cutting! Beautiful cross!
  17. Very nice job! Great thing to do for your dad!
  18. Excellent job! Complex or not, letters are tough.
  19. Super job! You nailed it!
  20. Yeah that's it. I may have made that term up. I like more of a very dark brown backer on some things rather than black. If stain doesn't get it dark enough I lightly spray it then rub it with a rag before it drys and repeat till I like it.
  21. Thanks so much. Love that quote! I almost put an oversized backer on it so I could put it at the bottom.
  22. Thanks for sharing! So beautiful, I'm in awe!
  23. I like, "I don't mind that my competitor's prices are lower. He knows what his stuff is worth."
  24. Nice job, "Ant-man!" Very cool!
  25. Nice looking picture. Great job!
