  1. I have the older model dewalt (DW734), and it came with a 90 degree dust port to attach to the planer. It's removable so I store it in the drawer below my cart. My vac hooks right up to it as well. It's actually one of the best dust control units I have in the shop LOL
  2. The Phoenix puzzle is one of our best selling items. Our colors are very close to yours, except we add a little blue to outer wings... and the kids love these! Excellent work on that piece - no critique other than great job!
  3. Excellent idea for sprucing up the car - should make quite an impression on your customers
  4. We had our first clock sale 2 weeks ago (it took a few days to get the process down). A big thank you and shout out to @kmmcrafts for all the information relating to the drill bit size and clock insert as well as providing access to the insert! Also a shout out to every one who offered suggestions on mounting items. I went with a dowel for the clock tower and polyurethane glue for the dragon (this glue is now my go to for difficult glue ups!) Made from blond Poplar, measures 9 1/2" base x 6" height with a 2" clock tower insert with spray acrylic coating. I left enough room on the insert tower for engraving should the customer want in the future. Thanks as always in advance for reading
  5. Looking good @Iguanadon - no more kids stuff?
  6. Nicely done... FWIW: I've been using basswood for several years for our children's line of puzzles. We selected it specifically because it doesn't stain well and does not "shine" when finished nor does it have many if any knots unlike pine which we always had to work around and had way more waste than was practical. It does however, hold colors very well. Colors such as Water colors and food dyes are really well absorbed in Basswood.
  7. All are very nice, Lion is my fav - great expression!
  8. Can't say more than has already been said. Thanks for sharing that incredible carriage!
  9. I posted some of these pics in the "everything else" area after getting some help with a small problem, but am posting here, well just because Anyway, here is a new product we'll be showcasing this weekend. Hope you like - Our custom made night lamps can be made out of any existing catalog puzzle or special requested commissioned creations (which we are getting more and more all the time)! Thanks as always in advance for looking.
  10. This seems like an alternative. I've never used it but it is certainly cheap enough https://www.lowes.com/pd/RevolutionPly-5mm-Poplar-Plywood-Application-as-4-x-8/50121135
  11. Yeah, well I made no secret about my mechanical ability or lack there of so deal with it!
  12. Ok, withdrawal systems over! Welcome back
  13. Thanks all for the advice on the guard - it's coming off tomorrow! And yes, the hold down foot was the first to go!
  14. I've cut myself more than once. I'm afraid to admit. However, I know exactly how it happened every time and exactly the same way LOL I try hard not to do that and haven't cut myself in a very long time.
  15. Those are really nice! Thanks for posting them, I like yours a lot more than mine. So I'm stealling, err borrowing, err copying that design
  16. My new DeWalt DW788 Type 2 arrived 2 days early. Put it together and boy is it quiet and cuts through my stuff like butter! Anyway, there is this piece on it, described as the "Lower Guard" in the diagrams, here's a pic... Is this needed for anything? Can I just remove it without creating a problem of any sort, balance, adjustments etc.? It gets in the way of loading the blades on the lower chuck or at least makes it uncomfortable to do so. Thoughts? Thanks as always in advance
  17. Good points - then why does it work with my old chucks? That logic escapes me
  18. They're ruined - needed to use vice grips to get them off the saw!
  19. I have the 3921 - and it definitely needs a clamping system LOL - I use magnets I was looking at the new Wen but opted not to give it a try although I love the price
  20. Which wen is this? The new one or the old pinned one?
  21. Thanks for your update... Yeah, not going to happen for me! When I buy a product, I expect it to work and if the company gives me no satisfaction, then I will NEVER do business with that company again and will never recommend anything they sell I had contacted the company I bought them from originally to return them, they wanted to charge me 20% restocking fee - screw that! I will never buy anything from that company again either even though others here love them!
  22. Nope sorry, if the old chucks work it can't be the saw. These chucks are no good for my saw - that's great others have used them with success, I have wasted hours and hours trying to get these to work that I will never get back I have not and will not recommend them or use them on any future saws Waiting for my new saw to arrive
  23. Well, I've been working with these chucks now for a few weeks, and I must say... I'm not impressed! I can no longer get a straight up and down cut, it always comes out at an angle. When I set the table angle to be 90 to the blade, what happens is the cut ALWAYS comes out at an angle. I've used 3 methods to confirm the 90: cut a notch into a piece of wood and flip it around to see if the cut fits from behind, a magnetic digital angle gauge, and a small carpenters square. IMO there is way too much adjustment right/left in the chuck adjustment screws and I am unable to get the correct angle to cut a straight up and down cut.Consequently all my puzzle cuts are garbage as they can only be aligned from one side! I have adjusted these heads for hours now and I've given up on them. I put my old heads back on the saw, problem fixed but the noise is back LOL I won't be buying another set!
  24. Probably why I can't find one anywhere LOL UPDATE: Took the saw apart - did not take the upper arm piece apart.. Yet. I greased every bearing I could find. One thing that seems to have really helped is tightening the Pegas Chuck heads and greasing the bushings the screws slip into. But now it is much quieter that it was. Hope it stays that way but can't help thinking I may not need a new saw, but I think I want one anyway!
  25. *standing ovation* Nicely done... and thanks for making me feel even more inadequate LOL! Seriously though, incredible job!
