  1. That's a great looking box - thanks for sharing
  2. I think I like this technique - any particular brand of glue stick - I've tried a few on other project types and they weren't very "gluey"?
  3. Nice - I bet that turns into a real seller for you as well! Thanks for shairng
  4. Get well soon Charlie!
  5. I rub my fingers till the glue goops up then wipe it off with Goop I seem to get that stuff all over my fingers, not only the tips :( I tried gloves but then I go through them so fast, and still the glue is on the gloves making it hard to place the pattern
  6. Oh, well they look good just the same
  7. JT, Did you know your Gallery link goes to a "not found" page? Sorry, there is a problem The page you requested does not exist Error code: 1S160/2
  8. Thanks George - what do you do with the dust now?
  9. LOL - that's 2 funny - thanks
  10. That is one sweet vacation unit!
  11. LEW! You go guy! Thanks for the insights!
  12. I think it's a great looking piece - I know if I ever get to the point of able to sell my stuff, I will never do custom orders, I learned this years ago during my consulting days - no custom anything without payment up front. Thanks for sharing - love your clocks
  13. Looks darn good to me - thanks for sharing and hoping your GGD enjoys her gift!
  14. Yeah right - you're not picking on me, JT is not picking on me *sigh* - J/K My name is on my profile - Jes, you can call me Jes, Jessie JC I'll answer to any of them you can even call me late for dinner, just make sure there is plenty to eat
  15. The Delta 40-694 has no dust ports or dust control system to speak of. I set up 2 paths for my system - one topside for the table, and one bottom side for what falls through the insert. This saw is set up primarily to use the shop vac dust ctrl - however it can also use my HF system just in case Here are a few pics of the set up - it's not pretty but it's functional - PS: I know the spiral hose is not the most efficient but it is what I have and so I use it. Table Top - I have the blower on the left side of the unit pointing towards the dust hose - what is left over when cutting is finished I scrape into the hose The left side hose going to the bottom - sucks up what falls through - really works very well for what it is The 'Y" joins for the left and right sides - I can use either my shop vac, or my main HF duster control as needed The Wen is still hooked up to the HF system as well Thanks for looking and feel free to comment
  16. I was on the road for many years in my younger days during the 70's - I hitch hiked across most of the country - met lots of truckers and other road "folk" and truckers back then were outstanding! Those days, they would give me a ride often for a day at a time to their next main stop! Of course sometimes they dropped me off in the middle of nowhere and stuck me there until another trucker came by LOL Fun times and great experiences
  17. Cool - I think the Delta is the same way. However, because of how I set up the dust ctrl, I want the blower on the left - it blows the dust into my dust system on the right and below I'll be posting pics in a bit of what I did if you're interested
  18. Woot - I love these boxes. Not that I would try one on my crappy Skil band saw - but they are really cool - thanks for sharing
  19. Up until now. the wife has not had any real interest or say in my shop - she would do some finishing work, a little sanding but that's it/ Now, with the scroll saws, she likes cutting things - she doesn't think she does very well, and it's been a road trying to get her to understand "who freakin' cares?" LOL She still seldom says anything but "can you wait a few weeks" when I want to buy a big ticket item like the new Delta saw
  20. Disregard - I finally got it on - had to remove a 2nd segment and push really freakin' hard!
  21. So of course I got my new saw set up and ready to go and the dust blower segmented hose is broke! The first segment is broke in half - I removed it by soaking the piece in warm water. The problem now is I can't get the hose back on the saw connector. The pics are a bit blurry - I don't have a camera that can take pics that close Even warming the segment up, it won't "snap" onto the nipple. Thanks in advance for help
  22. Thanks @SCROLLSAW703 The manual leaves much to be desired - it's all of 4 pages LOL - but yeah, I did go through it last night, and set up a new blade ready to go this morning. I'm not opening anything on a new machine LOL - if it needs work it's going back as broke and I'll get a new one I already wiped down all the metal pieces with MS to remove the oil and packing grease, and put on the first coat of wax - actually the wife put her first coat of wax on the table - if she wants to use it, she learns all about taking care of it as well - but she's really good that way about things she enjoys.
  23. Only one broke - the first one that attaches I'll try your solution today - need to set up some dust control as there is ZERO! LOL @lew - this thing is gorgeous! But I warn you, if you have a small shop like I do (1 side of a 2 car garage) you probably want to make sure you have room for it first! If you look at the picture, my work bench is 8' x 3' and it covers a significant part of my bench - so much so, I may have to bring in one of my other work benches for more layout space LOL I think I can fit one more small work bench in the shop, but if I do, I don't think I'll have room for a planer :( which should be my last big purchase for awhile
  24. Got the saw late today and set it up - it was fairly easy, not sure about the table level though - no instructions. Also the blower tube was broke! Hopefully I can get a replacement tube for it - they're probably closed over the weekend of course One thing about this saw is it is HUGE! Easily twice as big as the Wen We're off to scroll practice
  25. Learning is good - I learn all the time - retaining it another matter completely!
