  1. Thanks Jim, I use clear acrylic Lacquer. (automotive Clear). Three coats cut back between each one with 360g paper.
  2. Thanks Bill, The cat was a free pattern I got from a site long since forgotten I reduced it to fit on my boxes. The round one, Love Birds and heart are silhouettes I found online. The Robin is from a tissue box pattern. The Elephants, I found a pic and modified it. Mum I made up using the background of another pattern and the Roos I put in the place of deers.
  3. A really nice job and present. I can concur that any Elvis fan would love it.
  4. G'day all, Have finished another lot of trinket boxes. We have the Spring Festival on Sunday so hopefully They will go. Some designs I have posted before. The Heart, Round bird and cat are new. Also used Western Red Cedar on the Love birds with the blue felt and "Mum" is pine with and Oregon (Douglas Fir) top it has a purple glitter felt. The red bands are Jarrah. All boxes are flocked and the lids have a proud, flocked piece under them, so they fit snugly into bases.
  5. Good Job. Charlie does some nice patterns.
  6. Nice one Gary. Yep those spirals take a bit of taming.
  7. Two amazing pieces Kevin. Remind me never to go in a competition against you mate. If that's the standard you keep to when you are tired, I haven't snowballs chance in hell
  8. I bet the little blokes were not too happy about that ! Sorry Dan, couldn't help myself.
  9. Very Nice Danny.
  10. I think you are telling porkies Ron, That's a drawing Kidding mate, an absolutely superb piece. I thought I cut some difficult pieces but I have nothing on you. A real ripper.

  13. Very nice and bright Kevin. I like bright colours.
  14. I know that feeling "Couldn't win a kick in a stamped" Glad you got out of your funk with a little help by a saw and a cute empriante (My Niece used to call them that).
  15. **** Ray, mate, that has to be the hardest thing anyone will ever have to tackle. My heart breaks for you and your family. What ever you do, do not beat yourself up. I have been there and believe me, there was very little anybody could do with that mindset. If you need to chat. contact me mate.
  16. Les, I had to start selling, There was no room left in the house and no more cash to buy blades or timber All relatives and family never had enough birthdays and Xmas only came once a year.
  17. I really like the Merry Xmas. The car is cool too. It takes quite a bit of practice using spirals, especially when cutting side ways and reverse. That would of been a challenge with flat blades.
  18. Hope you do well Jim. The night before and the early mornings almost make me want to not attend, but when I get home and count the readies, I change my tune
  19. Off to a good start Edward. Well done mate. I have a pretty busy time coming up with markets, so the sawdust is really flying in the shed
  20. Kev, I wasn't sure whether to Like, laugh or be confused at you dilemma mate. You are not the only one. I have made custom pieces and been in such a hurry to post them, I have forgotten to take,me pics. I think @JimErn said it best "It's no easy task growing old"
  21. Thanks Rick, We have similar saying, relating to cricket which is also just about to get under-way. Knocked it for 6 or belted it over the stand.
  22. Thanks Denny, I use a felt for the back grounds and flock the interiors.
  23. Thanks Dave, the oldest bus I owned was a 63 Falcon Deluxe Station Station wagon. Loved that car.
  24. Thanks Marg, No not for anyone special, but being a mining town and the so called Capital of the outback, we have lots of tourists, so I try and come up with a few things Goldfields related. Actually sold this one from my facebook post so I'd better make another couple
