  1. Be careful as stain is not like paint. There is a better than even chance that it will bleed under any type of masking. @spirithorse 's suggestion of burning the borders seems like winner.
  2. Very nice, I'm sure your brownie account will have a deposit
  3. I must confess, I do the same,Run the machine for a a little while when replacing blades then re-tension it. Both Ex and the DeWalt
  4. Jim, it is truly magnificent mate.. I don't know a kid in the world (or an adult for that matter) who wouldn't be over the moon to have one of those.
  5. Another nice batch, along with a kind heart. Must be a bugger getting that saw dust out of your bed each morning mate.
  6. Nice and bright. Great idea using the of-cuts to make jigs.
  7. Be thankful you found it before tearing the machine apart. Good save Kev.
  8. Bugger, same thing happened to my bandsaw. The neighbour popped over to have a look at it and have a beer, . He sat his can on the table and the stain is there for perpetuity. Congratulations @Mimi, I'm jealous ;). Don't worry to much about how the saw looks, just enjoy using it. It will gather it's scars over the years, like we all do.
  9. Welcome Michael, from just down the track in Kalgoorlie WA Enjoy your visits, plenty of good people here.
  10. Well Ron! You've belted it over the stands again mate. Super job (Just so I never had to say Beautiful)
  11. Excellent piece. I bet only you see the faults. Pricing is always difficult as there are many different factors and reasons for setting a price. Ask yourself "What would I pay for it" and use that as a guide.
  12. When cutting our native timbers such as Jarrah, Marri etc I always use clear tape on top of the pattern. I use practically the same method as @dgman Dan. When I first heard about doing this to reduce or even eliminate burning, I had my doubts, however I find I it does as advertised. I also have a magnifying lamp and and another on one side of the saw.
  13. Love them. Now a nice tool box and you are all set.
  14. Our neighbour on the farm had two draft horses Prince and Blackie. Dad used to borrow them a lot to pull a dray while carting hay and especially to snig logs out of the bush.
  15. Abso-bloody-lutely beautiful Ron. I'll bet you can't hold onto them for long.
  16. Thanks
  17. Very nice Gary. I find tissue boxes sell well.
  18. A few Xmas Tree Decos , Western Red Cedar and a box for a friend of my Daughter. Pine with Nyatoh band.
  19. I love the sentiment and the piece. Yep, like most things big corporations have taken over the family farm, with (in a lot of cases) help from the banks. It's heartbreaking to a farmer who has to sell his and his forefather's legacy.
  20. What can I say.. nothing! When something is spot on there is nothing more to say.
  21. A dollar in your pocket Edward is better than in someone else's Hope you sell heaps at the next one.
  22. ONYA Roly, It's always good to hear of someone having a good market.
  23. Another suggestion that won't cost much, Try placing clear packaging tape on your project. I don't know if it would reduce the noise, but it eliminates burning.
  24. Thanks Ray, Yep all from Our farm at a little place called Caterick, 10 miles from a slightly larger place (pop 300) Greenbushes, where I went to primary school. In the Western Australia's South West. I learnt to drive on that old Fordson Major, ploughed a lot of paddocks and carted a lot of water and hay.
  25. A few projects related to farms along with some pics of a real farm The photos are of the farm I grew up on. A dairy farm with pigs, sheep and pigs. We never had electricity, but we had a great life. I even have some pics somewhere of Mum in a hay wagon, pulled by Price, a draft horse.
