  1. Nice simple, robust design and the Logo turns it into a piece of art. I like it.
  2. Great stuff Jeff. The Raccoons and Cards really stand out. Love 'em
  3. Very nice decoration Jim. You have been busy.!
  4. You have been one busy man Pete, A very nice collection
  5. Thanks RJ. Yes I do all the designing myself. It can be a lot of fun, but can also be frustrating, trying to find the right picture, the placement of it etc.
  6. Thanks Ralph. I really appreciate it mate. I'm just a little pedantic when it comes to making things. When I was doing my apprenticeship I was always getting into strife for spending too long on a job. "We're not making Chippendale pieces, that's good enough, now get it out the door."
  7. Than you. A couple of months ago I bought a triple set of Tek screw sockets for my drill, a good quality set. I put them somewhere safe and buggered if I could find them when I needed them. I turner the shed upside down and eventually gave in and purchased another identical set. The very next day l opened a drawer in the shed to get something and staring me right in face was the set of unopened bits.
  8. Thank you. I am really giving the old brain a bit of a workout now.I think it just about all was done with the scroll saw. I may of used a band saw to cut the outside circumference.
  9. @Rob Here's one you will like mate. This was the 2nd one I made for the same bloke. He served in both the NZ and Aussie Forces.
  10. There's a teeny bit of NZ poking out the bottom Rob
  11. Really neat Charlie. This is the type of item that makes people stop and look. I do like the nativity scene.
  12. Bastard of a thing this getting old mate. I have been putting down a floating floor in my Daughter's house, The constant getting up to the saw and down to fit the boards have played havoc with my knees. Should be finished this weekend, with the exception of the skirting. (I hope)
  13. Another discovery in my search. I have made about 5 medal boxes in total, all slightly different. This one depicts a Light horseman on the front, the Rising sun badge on top and a famous photo of Australian troops taken on the Western front in WW1 on the rear. On other boxes I have changed the horse for a donkey in recognition of one of our most famous soldiers from Gallipoli, "Simpson and his Donkey" https://www.awm.gov.au/articles/encyclopedia/simpson
  14. I was searching some old drives looking for a particular pattern that I was sure I had, maybe I dreamed it, or I just haven't dug deep enough. However I came across some photos of a jewellery box I made for my wife. She need another as this one is over flowing now. enjoy. I used Pine, Jarrah and Merranti, and the bands are Tasmanian oak.
  15. Nice cutting. We never missed an episode of Gun Smoke

    Recent Cuts

A ripper collection Rob. The tree looks pretty complicated but excellently cut.
  17. You did a great job on that piece Joe. It is one pattern I thought seriously about buying. But after a lot of thought I doubt if anybody would pay me what it would be worth with all those cuts and although we have a cat, the missus is not that enamoured with them to have cat pictures on the wall.
  18. Very Nice Charlie. I buy the war office flowers almost weekly and often get a bit of good natured ribbing at the shops "What have I done wrong " My reply is "it's insurance"
  19. I love seeing the way people solve problems. Great idea.
  20. Very nice and a very lucky lady
  21. Nice looking clocks and decorations Kevin.
  22. A great package Dick all very nice. I do like the Western ones.
  23. Well done John. She's a keeper mate.
  24. Great work Fran, even better seeing it was your 1st piece. Love iot
  25. Very nice Brenda, I always use a backer. Most I paint black, however when I want a coloured one I use felt.
