Thank you for your lovely comments. Husband was stood on the very, very top handle of ladders trying to get into the loft and the ladders snapped. As he had his 'elbows' already through the hatch he didn't fall but he tore the muscles and tendons in his shoulder. They reckon anywhere between 3 + 8 months for recovery depending on how bad the tear is. He's right handed and that's the one he tore and believe me, I know from past experience, he doesn't make the best of patients. He's never had 'Slow Down' in his vocabulary.

I saw this picture on the internet and loved it, so I put it through Inkscape and came up with this. Done purely because I liked it and I needed to get out of the house. I have 10 pups, 6 adult dogs, 2 cats a pond full of enormous fish and now a 'wounded' husband that all seem to think I have 4 pairs of hands.
  5. I like that, I can do 'fretwork' but I think those 'words' would be beyond my skill. Great job !!!
  6. I feel your pain and frustration, I've had that happen to me. I snapped the whole piece over my knee and threw it across the room. !!
  7. Love the soldiers, they're looking good and believe it or not, I'm in the middle of the very same cat pattern. I've cut it a lot, it seems very popular around here.
  8. Yep, guilty as charged. I find it much easier to 'hit' it than to try and get it untwisted as my hands are not good. !! Never had a problem doing this.
  9. Hi Sed from just up the motorway in Doncaster. Welcome to the Village it's an amazing place. Lots of lovely people willing to answer any question and always happy to see the work you've done on your saw.
  10. I did put a video on here Kevin just after Tony finished it. I just can't remember when
  11. Will that stop the pin coming out ? For sure if it will, I'll get a steel insert for it. Thanks
  12. Yes, a different problem. However, the 'pin' coming loose is one of the 'faults' of this machine. I knew that because my other saw did exactly the same. I just haven't been checking it for some reason Here's the pics to show you what I mean, although it's fixed now as they sent me a new part to replace. 1) tensioner - 2) how it comes loose 3) pushed back in'
  13. You're not dreaming, yes my other saw had a bushing that was worn. Tony fixed it and that saw is now in his workshop. Me ?? I was impatient and bought myself a new one. The problem that they both have is that the tiny metal pin that keeps the quick tensioner attached to the front of the arm secure does vibrate loose, although the saw feels really smooth to me.
  14. Oooh, Nice !! Must admit I had to google 'scat pack'
  15. I like that a lot. Well done it looks great.
  16. It's not lasered Gary, I did it with my pyrography pen As for the middle picture, Well, maybe 50yrs ago when I worked at the Playboy perhaps.
  17. Don't fret Frank. I doubt what I use is all BB ply but my source is my husbands wood yard, I pick the best pieces and can do stuff like this with it quite easily. I don't think they turned out too badly. I have however had problems with 3mm BB ply that cost me an arm and a leg from a 'specialist' shop.
  18. I cut mainly with ¼" ply as I get it for free. I now have some 3mm ply and I'm trying that. But in answer to your question, I personally use #3 Niqua/FD reverse on everything I cut and never had a problem with tear out.
  19. Nice one !! Take care, it gets better I promise. !!
  20. Gorgeous. !!
  21. Brilliant, you must be the best Grandpa ever !!!
  22. Just seen the pictures, fabulous !!
  23. That looks awesome !
  24. I've had it about 4 months. However, the 'pin' coming loose is one of it's 'faults' I knew that because my other saw did exactly the same. It's just that for some reason I haven't been checking. I presumed, quite wrongly, that it happened on my other saw because it was quite old and never gave it a thought with this saw as it's so new. Well you live and learn !!
  25. Axminster has just rung me and said, because I've not had the saw that long and because the 'pin' doesn't come as a 'single' item, they are sending me a replacement 'unit'.... A new tension lever + pin, free of charge. Now isn't that a lovely, refreshing gesture, great customer service. !!!
