  1. I'll second what Jim said. Gorgeous
  2. Beautiful !!!!
  3. I've done a Reindeer, just not brave enough to do it on a Scrollsaw I did mine on my trusty old Bandsaw
  4. I had a day where 'nothing' went right. I couldn't do right, I couldn't say anything right, I broke a cup and a plate by not holding them right. So in the end I took myself off to the shed and picked a cute, easy, flowing piece to cut. Now I feel better It didn't take long to cut (1 hour) but when I'm at my saw the rest of the world goes away for a while, it's great therapy !!!!
  5. Awesome, just Awesome. !!!!
  6. What a great gift. Beautifully cut. No wonder he loved it. !!!!!
  7. I always look forward to seeing your work Kevin. You were one of my 'hero's' when I first joined the village. I always looked out for your posts, (still do). I think both these pieces are great This is me blowing you a kiss from this side of the water
  8. Great cutting, he'll love it for sure
  9. Welcome to the Village from our side of the pond
  10. Yep, that's what I do too. It suits me.
  11. Beautiful piece. Great cutting, Neat frame. And all round fabulous
  12. I think 'everyone' on here understands how you feel. Opportunities like that don't come every day. Enjoy
  13. Oh Wow, that looks great, !!
  14. What a good idea. !!!
  15. Nicely cut, well done. Enjoy that your wife wants to keep it, time will come when she asks you ''what are you going to do with all this stuff. At least that's what my other half says to me on a regular basis
  16. I'm sure they were 'beautiful' baskets Kevin. I must admit to doing exactly the same thing myself.
  17. Beautiful, I'm sure it will be treasured.
  18. Must admit to seeing this pattern on Steves site, but then I lost my glasses. I've been for an eye test and can pick up my new glasses on Wednesday and this will be the first thing I cut, I think it's fabulous. We have a BBQ coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm going to hide them around the patio and garden and sit back and watch !!!!!!
  19. Ladies don't 'cheat' --- we improvise I used to use 'tracing paper' and trace it then burn it, but this is way easier.
  20. Oh Heavens, you don't think I do it 'freehand' do you ? No, I print my name with a font I like in Inkscape, on my laser printer, turn it over so that it will print out backwards, then 'iron' it on to my work with my 'old' pyrography pen, then burn over it with my 'new' pyrography writing tip. I think it works really well.
  21. I've just started 'signing' my work. I use a writing tip and my Pyrography Machine.
  22. Lovely thought, I'm sure all 3 will be really pleased with them. Nice cutting and framing.
  23. I'm no expert on spirals, I've only done two pieces with them, however, after getting tons of help and advise from the Village I actually have my spiral blade somewhat 'tighter' that my flat blades, this makes it so much easier to control. Not sure I could have done this with a loose blade. https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/35129-gorilla/
  24. Beautiful pieces
  25. Mmm, several reasons. 1) Did you have what you wanted to print on the 'page' as it only prints what it can see. 2) I always do a ''trace bitmap'' of my pattern and work on that if it's not a PDF.. 3) If it is a Pdf then click on the colour you want the main pattern to be (I use grey) and then ''right click' on the colour you want the outline (stroke) to be.
