  1. A face mask is going to use a sheet or two for layered per roll. Can't figure why people have to grab in hoards. We have kept a roll in the car for years for spill, napkin, or one day my wife's seat was wet. When I first got them my wife was fighting me and telling me we have 'Bounty'. Now that she has used them, they have their own place next to the 'paper towel'. RJF
  2. There are patterns and resources for making masks that I posted. This article today outlines a company checking the materials and realizing Blue Shop towels work the best. If you know any crafters or groups making these, pass it on. RJF https://news.yahoo.com/using-blue-shop-towels-homemade-221911287.html
  3. Creative. Constant problems, lead to solutions. RJF
  4. AHH, the thrill of the first sale! Now to sell, more and more and more! You will make billions in no time. Or maybe an extra beer. RJF
  5. Note to public; a scroll saw user was using their scroll saw mounted on wheels, and left it running. He now asking for its location. It was last seen running down I-35. RJF
  6. I wonder, rather then fighting the dye coming off, mix it with the shellac or what your applying. Could be mixed in small batches if the shellac comes in large cans. RJF
  7. Any time a table saw is used, think through your cuts. Clear table, guides set that wood won't jamb or grab. Wood scanned for metal, checked for knots, warped? Where are your hands and body when you start and finish the cuts. Are jigs or clamps needed for a safe cut? Are you too tired and stop? REPETITION AND BOREDOM will get you. Keeping your brain clear and focused on the cuts can be hard and can lead to accidents. Safety equipment is really hard to buy since it doesn't seem to do anything. I bought added safety electronic braking and hitching equipment when we bought our 16 foot cargo trailer. It cost me dearly, but it was activated 3 times on a extended trip, which we would have lost the trailer and rolled. Just takes the one time for a Sawstop to be triggered, or hitting a safety guide and realizing you would have lost your hand and the cost was worth it. RJF
  8. Is the window still in pane? Glad your ok. RJF
  9. Milwaukee Sawalls had an aggressive feature. Rather then just up and down motion, it adjusted a forward motion. As the saw ran the blade moved down and forward a bit. By adjusting it moved the forward motion more and more. For cutting a wood beam an aggressive setting cut through it fast. Setting it to a non aggressive setting for say a pipe let the saw cut through smoothly without it bouncing around. RJF
  10. I've thought of changing my name to QZZXV. Should kill the spam and phone calls. The Q, Z X and V are silent. RJF
  11. Will everyone please use hand sanitizer before typing. I don't want to get a computer virus! RJF
  12. Should be able to get an idea from this. RJF http://letterfrequency.org/
  13. I searched support and got a general page. Community forums or support from the programs here would be a source. RJF https://inkscape.org/community/
  14. There are versions of all software programs. One thing that changes in this thread with everyone, is what version of Inkscape they have. So depending on the version/ sub version fix or bug. Different people may experience different problems with the same software. At times it can come down to looking at support sites or writing the companies or forums and see if there is a bug or update or version that has the problem. Many times when they update to the newest version, they can create bugs from the new features or changes. So its a ongoing chase to make new features, while chasing old bugs or new ones created. RJF
  15. I think someone should open a site to sell projects that didn't work right and call it 'OOPS' RJF
  16. Machine screws have size and thread count. There are gauges that can be bought and kept around the shop to check. It's size and thread count per inch. So you could have a 6 - 24, Size six, 24 threads per inch. If you can get it apart and take it to a good hardware store, they should have a gauge or just pull out a few screws and fit it. Once the size and threads are found you can pick any nut, knob, screw with that size. Works for any machine screw, knob, nut on anything. If it's missing or shot use what I have or fix it up from the other posts. If you look up screw gauge on amazon you can keep on in the shop. Sometimes they are in hardware stores, but not recognized or sold much. RJF NOTE; Screws, nuts come in imperial and metric like other things. Gauges are also combination of metric and imperial either separate, in sets or combination. RJF
  17. LARGE BAG OF RUBBER BANDS? And your not tempted to shoot a few at each other? RJF
  18. Heres a few to grab. Let me know if this is enough. RJF https://www.amazon.com/Clothespins-Natural-Wooden-Multi-Function-aHeemo/dp/B071GR1JNH/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=hardwood+clothespin&qid=1583796008&sr=8-5
  19. My wife has puzzled for years. She loves to just sit and put them together. For some years we had a kitchen table she worked at and I put plexiglass on top for meals. We could look at the puzzle underneath the glass. At times I threaten to use 'puzzle glue' and glue the puzzle together. Of course if I got near one with the glue, she would beat me with the glued puzzle. Don't know if clamping puzzles 'permanently with puzzle glue would be clamping. If you had 1000 piece puzzle or more she would get one of each, which we couldn't afford them. I can never buy a puzzle as a gift for her, she will stand looking them over and over in stores until she finds one she likes. I ask if there is a type and its just 'what she likes'. RJF
  20. Clamps, One idea is to keep an assortment of rubber bands, another is an assortment of zip ties. Club stores and home improvement store has sold jars of assorted size and color zip ties, use and cut off. The last is string. Put a loop on each end of a length you need, put string around project, put a pencil or dowel in each loop and twist. Keep an assortment of 'binder clips' or 'bulldog clips' from the office section or office supply store. With this desktop assortment you can grab one to use to hold or help clamp. Mix the ideas, use binder clips to grab, while you use rubber bands around the binder clips. Put zip ties around wood to hold the string to clamp......RJF
  21. Still got the walls and ceiling where you live to scrollsaw. Just think of the size you could scroll! RJF
  22. Just be careful of any old material. and wear a dust mask and vent. Asbestos was put in everything for years. Other old material have solvents and materials declared cancer causing. Restoring and refurbishing can be cheap and fun, but old materials will by pass manufacturing standards of today. RJF.
  23. There are a whole group of designs that use the cyclone and vac as a rolling cart. Free or purchase plans are out there. Seen the vac on top, on bottom, next to the bucket with acc tools and hose held around it. RJF
  24. I think you would be better off gluing a metal leaf sheet to plywood and cutting, or gold or silver leaf gluing after the pattern is cut. You can get a constant thickness and inure the metal stays. RJF https://www.dickblick.com/search/?q=gold leaf&unbxd_x=0&unbxd_y=0&unbxd_sp_cs=UTF-8&unbxd_s=unbxd
  25. Won't tip. RJF
