  1. A few manufactures buy plugs that have a insert in between the plug in blades, If the fuse is there, pry out the insert, will show the fuse. Very common for Xmas lights, very few machines have this, but its easy to check. May ave to follow wire and tear everything apart. Or just call Seyco and ask. Its silly to pay shipping each way to replace a fuse. RJF
  2. https://forum.scrollsawer.com/forum/scroll-saw/tools-and-blades/42671-excalibur-21-repair General forum above. Call or email the Seyco. Having designed and help trouble shoot electronic equipment for my profession I never had a problem with any call to help out. Calls are valuable to the people making the equipment as much as yourself. If something is happening, it helps to be contacted and look into whats going on to correct a problem and redesign on the next model. Your problem multiples is a mgrs. quality control headache and their reputation suffers if it gets around there are defects. RJF https://www.seyco.com/
  3. My wife and I talked about that when stores were closing. Didn't Sears start with a catalog with kit built houses and selling everything else to be shipped to the customer? Kind of going complete circle? How do buy pants, underwear, shoes over the internet? Try a pair and ship them back for a different one and on it goes til they fit? RJF
  4. Recent article shows whole group of stores closing 2020. For an economy that is 'improving', I'm seeing a lot of brick and mortor stores closing in the towns i have lived in and check towns we would like to move too. Even moving to a new area, we are seeing stores with closing signs. RJF https://www.businessinsider.com/stores-closing-in-2019-list-2019-3
Moving this year. I am planning on cutting patterns over the year and see about giving back to a homeless org and / or woman's shelter in the Kansas City MO area. Beautiful collection of patterns. RJF
  5. When I was in college going thru engineering one department was bioengineering. They had a program to search for and design adaptions for the disabled. They continually communicated with all the engineering department professors for help from the other engineering fields. We had many projects from them. There are many adaptions and programs that help the disabled adapt. Here is one link of many that can be searched. 6. Heating calculation is done by a heating calculation booklet called J calculation, which is now in software. It takes into account what the walls are made of, how thick, how much insulation, how many windows, what type, e glass, 2 pane, wood, vinyl, location lat, longat. sun exposure, cubic footage of each room, how many rooms, size stove in kitchen, how many bedrooms, IE people give off heat. This can be purchased online, fill out about 3 to 4 pages of infor and its plugged into software. The calculations of heat load are sent back and many calculate the size of ducts for each room. I did some intern work at GE and use to do the paper booklet, since no one wanted to do the math and reference charts. 7. I wonder with all the craft projects, if customers would buy scroll sawed projects with no stain or finish for them to finish to to what they like. RJF
  8. Stencil fonts will probably work also. Cutting either folders or vinyl there has to be bridges to keep the letters shapes to spray or brush. RJF
  9. With that date, he would have served on a starship. Just figured there's a program for a few folks for space travel. RJF

  17. I can't relate a single thing to farming. My wife's mother and father grew up farming and she visited a uncles farm baling hay. i grew up in a suburb and couldn't point out the front or back of a tractor. We are dead in the middle of farming country and an MD explained to me all the areas are corporate and there isn't a little family farm in our area. We drive by tractor sales that are monstrosities. I see commercials with tractors that have complete satellite tracking systems to track the tractor and exact amount of seeds or fertilizer or pesticide and any point. I love the engineering of these tractors, but could locate the key or switch to start one. If I even dared to design a pattern for farming, I would have to search the internet and watch videos of farming. Probably come off as a tractor rolling through a suburb. RJF
  18. I live in South Dakota and have been looking at houses in Missouri. We drive through South Dakota, Iowa and into Missouri through the summer and early fall. Each state had farm areas surrounded by water. One farm house and car was surrounded by water looking like an island. This year with farms has me thinking of sailboats. Bad year for these guys. RJF
  19. Wedding cakes use plastic or wooden dowels with cardboard flats to stack and support the next level. Even if the cake is one level, let the baker know the topper weight an size. If they don't prepare some support, the topper may sink into the cake. Ah weddings. My wife and I married 30 years ago in Hawaii, living in a homeless shelter. Twisted romance, HUH? RJF
