  4. Couldn't edit my post; the instant glue technique could be used on a production basis. RJF
  5. Saw a youtube the other day. Wasn't scroll saw, but noted his glue technique. He put strips of glue spaced, then put CA glue 'crazy glue' in the spaces. He held it in place enough for the CA to grab. CA glue can be used as a two part, so the glue in applied to one piece and the instant set is applied to the other piece. It eliminates the pin nailer, clamping, or putting weights on the project. Filed this technique away in my brain to use if I'm short on clamps or a pin nailer isn't available. One additional missed 'clamping' technique is taping a few places. Little off track from glue. I'm covering some of the responses that could or couldn't be used from lack of equipment or space. RJF
  6. Maybe as and outing you can all go out, put it on a catapult and see if its got any fly left in it. RJF

  9. I thought the post was a joke. I worked in a nursing home going to college. The people there are there cause they can't care for themselves. Spent the day dead lifting people out of bed and off the toilet. Many had know idea who I was or who they were. Some walked around the halls lost. If anyone was actually thinking of using a hotel rather than a nursing home, doesn't need the nursing home. RJF
  10. Urology seems to be from the dark ages. They couldn't put a catheter in me and had staff rotating trying to get it in. Hurt like the dickens. Kidney stone needed laser and I was stripped raw bleeding. Hurt going to the bathroom to the point I was just about holding it not to go. They went up me fro a stint and again I was raw and bleeding. I'm on blood thinner so that became and issue every time. There are fiber optic cameras and they use equipment that could rate as schedule 40 pipe. Its crude and painful. I HEAR YOU! RJF
  11. Do you pack your scroll saw in a suitcase? RJF
  12. If you decide to put a tent up and add plastic and any walls, weight the tent legs. With wind hitting any closed side, you maybe chasing a rolling tent. RJF
  13. If money is no option, I would buy a government bid scroll saw. I think they go for 2 million a piece. RJF
  14. Is this thing for selling at fairs or a second vacation home? Seriously over built. Everything I build is over design and my wife job is to over fill cabinets or test wall shelves weight capacity. So far my designs have held til she finds something too large or too heavy. RJF
  15. The ear protection protects the ear drum and the smaller bones from impact by high energy or what we perceive as very loud noise. Just taking your hearing aids off you may not perceive the loudness, BUT the intense sound waves are slamming your ear drum and over vibrating the small bones in your ears. Its always your choice. You can go from hard of hearing to deaf. My son grew up deaf. Start studying sign language, you may need it. RJF
  16. My wife has had migraines since the day I met her. After years of general MDs she was refereed to Neurologist. Check them out, many specialize with migraine and treat migraine. She has prevent meds and meds when she has a migraine. She suffered for years, but has done better with the Neurologist. Was offered the Botox, but never went that route. RJF
  17. Not to be a wise guy. If your having trouble with saw dust around your eyes, work on getting rid of the the saw dust. Your breathing that stuff too. There is the larger dust that settles, but smaller particles are floating around. So cutting off the scroll saw and pulling a a mask down, you would still be breathing it. There are loads of discussion on getting the saw dust down. The selection of safety glasses is still your choice. Medical reports show woodworkers have a much higher chance of serious lung conditions.RJF
  18. Not MOTORIZED? Do you mean a hand crank saw? RJF
  19. You can consider a generator. Since home shops use one power tool at a time and most don't use 220. You can buy a low end low amp generator OR use it for extra amps for 120 volt tools. Opens the selection to almost anything. Also throw in the added power backup feature.RJF
  20. To make a Satan carving out of play doo, you have to buy the Satan play doo fun factory. RJF
  21. I'm so sorry to hear of Toms death. He contributed so much to this forum. I always loved his flaming scroll saw work.RIP. RJF
  22. What do you mean flip phones are coming back? I still use one. T mobile has a old plan of paying for minutes and rolling them over each year for 10 dollars. We are both disabled, so we take the phone for the car. Been rolling over minutes for 10 dollars since 1996. RJF
  23. You eat chili with beans and your wife lets you sleep in the same room? RJF
  24. When I was a kid I bought properties, built houses and hotels and rented them for profit. Sometimes I made a lot of money and other days I lost severely. It was a cheap franchise operation that came in a box. I think the business model was called Monopoly. RJF
  25. Sounds like a lot of work for giving it away. Corporations would be having meeting to either create profit or close. Sounds like you could donate at leisure and end up with the same results. I wonder are the others, mass producing at an industrial level?RJF
