  1. Comes up decent clicking on it. Its amazing they can cut wood thin, since its a natural material with fibers. RJF
  2. I converted 1/32 to a decimal and divided by 3 layers then put it back to a fraction. One layer would be inches thick. Do they have people with real steady hands and tweezers laminating these? How Thick Is a Human Hair in Inches? Individual strands of hair range in thickness from 1/1500 to 1/500 of an inch in diameter, depending on the properties of the hair in question. Typically, blond hair is thinnest since it usually does not have a middle layer like dark hair does. RJF
  3. Didn't know they made plywood that thin, other then what is called vernier and I'm not sure its defined as plywood. I would expect most would would crack through the grain that thin. RJF
  4. Lot of hobby stores, hardware and home improvement stores have a hobby wood selection. Generally I would stay away from it. The main hobby wood sold is very light weight, very carve able and perfect for light planes, boats. Its balsa wood, which is so light, it would snap looking at it. I think most the folks are going to recommend a supplier of hardwood. 1/32 is really thin. That thickness, could probably be kicked up a little. I'm a constant book reader and have a variety of bookmarks. i know they are a bit thicker and haven't worried about breaking them. Just a thought, maybe your project requires that thickness. RJF
  5. Bugs have learned over 100s of years if they follow lines it will get to food. Follow a cafeteria line, food at the end, go to a fair and stand in line, food, follow a highway line, eventually fast food. I could go on, but I think I'm milking the joke. RJF
  6. Pickup the accordion again and mount a hose. You can play it and use it as a musical blower. RJF
  7. For those hard of hearing, there are electronic tuners for pianos, guitars that have mics. They will listen and show on the display the note your tuning too. Don't need it if you can hear and compare notes, if not, this is one adaption for hard of hearing. RJF
  8. Beautiful. I love automation and would have kicked it up one more notch and put a 10 rpm motor on each wheel. Probably put a variable control on it so the wheels turn just enough that people have to keep double check to realize the wheels are turning. I love the way it is, I guess I'm weird and like to put a little twist to things. RJF
  9. I've used CA glue since it came out years ago. I would say I've been very casual with it and never considered it hazardous other than sticking yourself to the project. From your postings, I'm going to be treating CA differently. RJF
  10. Experiment with some cardboard. Then you have a good idea, of what works without cutting all the wood and finding it doesn't work. RJF
  11. Can't get my head around Amish rules myself. My parents bought a house that had a cabinet build by an Amish craftsman and they wanted another. We drove there to get an estimate. The house had no electricity. The shop was wired with a large compressor that powered all air tools. Its OK to use air tools that is powered by electricity, but not the electricity? Saw a Amish computer, I guess must be approved. Its not OK, but it OK with this one? The way they live is fine with me. The logic evades me. http://amishamerica.com/an-amish-computer/
  12. When my son passed out and fell forward, just the emergency room for one hour was $10,000. Just laying on the table with nothing done. RJF
  13. My wife and I are both disabled vets. Our medical 'insurance is the VA. Our son has been our unpaid caretaker. Since we do not have paid insurance we have been put in a tight spot several times with accidents with my son. One time he had a blood test, walked outside and pasted out falling face down. Drove his teeth through his lip and knocked out a tooth into his skull. Needless to say he didn't have the money and we sure didn't. Every hospital has an application to revoke the bills which they cover. Have had to do this twice. If you quietly call the hospital, find which department that handles this, you can fill out the form work. Either they can revoke the entire bill, or severely reduce it. As Veterans we have had to do this twice, which was accepted. We couldn't have paid one of them for the rest of our lives. This is first hand information, not something off the internet or something I heard of Its not welfare, but a program that helps those that could never pay the bill. RJF.
  14. Insulation is dead air space. If you create dead air space by Styrofoam or double hung tarp, some how sealed, the more air space the more 'insulation capacity. Other materials will insulate, by their capacity to not move heat, ie energy. Metal will move heat fast and is a poor insulator. Foam doesn't and so on each side of the scale. RJF
  15. If your looking at temporary, check out theater sets. Its all about temporary structures that are changed from one act to another to the next play. RJF
  16. I've seen triangles used for drying and painting and also seen brads nailed in so there is a very small point area for the project to dry or spray. RJF
  17. There is the impulse sealer, the heat gun and the shrink wrap. Can be bought as a kit, seperate, from shipping suppliers and amazon and probably eBay. Depends on what is wrapped, seen some here that didn't use the impulse sealer which creates a heat seal closing the layer of wrap. The heat fun can be bought at a hardware store, some use hair driers, heat gun have specific temps, many that are higher then a hair dryer. Someone can chime in on suppliers. I believe there are posts on this if you search shrink wrap on the search. RJF Interesting library ref. https://uspackagingandwrapping.com/packaging-library.html
  18. Use a bar stool at the kitchen counter, can't stand. Will keep this model in mind. If you need padding go to a medical supply store or amazon and check gel pads for wheel chairs. Designed for folks like me to keep the pressure off the backside. Had mine for many years, don't know if I would buy any under a 100, Though the technology could have changed. 19. Spent some years of my life designing. Seems odd with technology in this century that there are so many discussions on clamping features on a scrollsaw. They can get a car to drive itself down the road, but were still messing with a little blade on a scrollsaw. RJF
  20. I know of bottom feeder in fishing terms which one is a catfish. RJF
  21. Have an old 1986 wagon that we use as a second had car. Jacked the car up one day and the jack went into the body. With these unibodys, had to line the jack up just right on the bottom seam. Came across these pucks. Wonder if they are modified hockey pucks or a different material. Have thought of getting a few hockey pucks out and sawing them. Though if they don't work, the car is falling off the jack. Different versions on the link. RJF https://www.amazon.com/s?k=puck+car+jack&ref=nb_sb_noss
  22. Take all the mistakes and miscuts and nail or glue them together. Seen enough tacked together shapes they call art. Just make sure to sign it, charge a really high price and call it a one of a kind original work. RJF
  23. This came up on my homepage. Thought about posting it on Pattern, but its not mine. I don't play hockey, watch hockey and couldn't come up with a single hockey puck. Maybe some fan or relative is into it and would love to display whats buried in their drawers. RJF Hockey-Puck-Display-Stand.pdf Puck_Holder.pdf
  24. I would go with a nice sugar cookie dough. Roll flat, bake and cut. Should be quiet safe. RJF Guess I should backup my remark. RJF https://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/144136/nestle-toll-house-cookie-puzzle
