  14. Those cards are priceless for the lucky person receving them ! Frank is that wood is easy to work with and not to fragile ? Better than regular wood with scrollsaw ? I use that wood ( merisier russe in french ) for its stability and strong capacity. planeur
  15. Thanks everyone, until today , I have used hot glue and kind of cyanocrylate glue , depending the space of the joint! I have used double side tape when I was finished rounding pieces and installed them together. Will show you soon.... planeur
  16. Thanks Frank, I just take a look of some of your works and I saw your Glade Creek Mill that I had seen on the CWW site, and I still find that piece so beautiful , and so much delicate work ! 18. Well here I am with another step . I would like to have your advises if I can get my Heron look better. Gradually I had worked almost everyday, slowly because I am not a natural sculptor, but I discovered through the time that I have more and more facility of rounding pieces and adding the 3 D look ! He is becoming more and more real ( I think... ) , with all pieces rounded, and some were rising, I had also change the top of left wing to copy the other one and more real. So what do you think , some sanding is still to come, before holding all the pieces together. Thanks planeur
  19. Superbe ! planeur
  20. Frank , I would say as Ray said , you see less the dragon in your second one and less with the bottom one dragon and also because of the wood grain showing. So I would color the dragons. If you look at some dragonfly on the web , you will see as you probably know, that their wings are often colored. And they are beautyful ! planeur
  21. Bonjour Tony Glad you are interested in that idea , I will do some tests soon ! I did a couple of time some marquetry and still have that equipment! planeur
  22. Salut Kevin, my avatar is a " Snowy Owl " , or "Harfang des neiges" in french, a beautiful bird and is one of my favorite when I was doing bird watching . And that bird like most of those birds of prey are " gliders " , which is "planeur" in french and also the tool in the shop called...... " Planeur " or planer in english ! But the piece show , kind of flower is not mine, was there just to explain my post. planeur
  23. Salut Christian Glad to have another scroller almost from Québec ! What are you working on your machine ? I am still working on my "Grand Héron " , a lot of work , but lot of fun ! Will show you soon my progress ! planeur
  24. What do you think of that idea , I had when reading a post concerning a marquetry a friend did ! I had used that method myself ! I could heat with hot sand ( as we do in marquetry and as on the photo ) some part of a piece, + adding ( or not ) some riser to get more 3D effet with my intarsia. Is my idea is already used , I would not be surprised ! planeur
  25. For my brother in law retirement party, I did this tablet holder, because he is a big windsurfer ! From a model found on the web that I modify , with 3 positions of the holder. Wood is sapelli. planeur
