  1. Very clever - and nice cutting too!
  2. Last summer I helped a friend build a cedar privacy wall for a deck. My friend told the homeowner - once you touch it with stain or paint you have to keep touching it (in a few years) to make it look the same.
  3. Wow-za cutting!
  4. Awwwwww
  5. Welcome to the Village from Dover, Delaware.
  6. The shape of the wood, angle of the grain, and light edge on the right hand side really accentuate the dancer. Well Done!
  7. Now I can say I've seen it all. Well done !!!
  8. Ditto what Scrolling Steve said above !!!
  9. My scroll saw is bolted to a three legged wooden stand with a thick piece of carpet between the base of the saw and the 2 inch thick wood platform. No complaints. When I first got into this I came across a website article that promoted mounting the SS in a box filled with sand to dampen/diminish vibration.
  10. Yes, but in the spirit of truth in advertising - how about a photo of what it looks like after an afternoon of scroll sawing without the vacuum?
  11. Welcome from Delaware! Great place here - you're gonna love it!
  12. Ditto, Amen, Yep, Roger that, & Keep up the good cutting!
  13. ya done good!
  14. If you go used, consider seeing if replacement parts available. I bought a yard sale ancient Craftsman some time back and discovered parts were no longer to be had. Managed to sell if at our yard sale later, taking only a small loss. Did a couple side hustle deck jobs and last summer got a 14" Jet bandsaw, primarily for resawing. No regrets and leaning towards getting another smaller one as I am not fond of changing the bandsaw blades back and forth. Good luck on your quest.
  15. Looks good to me. And I've got some left over cedar
  16. Ain't it the truth! Good Job!!!
  17. You nailed it! I've cut that one also and used a green piece of felt as a backer for contrast.
  18. Those are beauties. Nice work!!!
  19. Good Lord Man, you must have a LOT of stamina! May the scroll saw gods be with you.
  20. The jury is in - It's Art! And Damn Fine Art I'll have to give spiral's a try.

Welcome to the Village from Delaware!
  23. Yep, I've been doing that for over a year now and enjoy the simplicity of it. I got mine thru Amazon - 500 in the box for somewhere around 7 cents apiece as I recall.
  24. Another option is to take a scroll saw class if one is available near you. We have a Woodcraft store in our area that offers various woodworking classes, scroll sawing being one of them. Just a thought.
