Kris, normally I don't care for this type of cutting. But I have to admit these are great. In fact, I think they probably look better than the actual photo. You have just changed my mind. Maybe one day I'll try cutting one. Jerry

Jim, Very nice. I am currently cutting the Marine emblem. Every time I see one posted I get another idea how to finish. I see you are from South Caroliina. I was stationed at Charleston Air Force Base when I was in the Air Force. Everyone I met was jealous because it was a garden spot. Again great cutting I'm certain the American Legion and ane the veterans will appreciate you efforts. Jerry

Love the picture, Paul. I went into the service the same year you did, at about the same weight (soak and wet). I too feel the same way you did, best and worst time of my life. The toughest decision I had to make was do I stay in or get out. I left, but often wonder what if I stayed in. At any rate things turned out OK for me. It was an honor to serve our country. Jerry

Many years ago, those community home shows would have one or two scroll companies with a booth. This is where I became interested in scrolling. Stopped going to these shows when the scroll saw companies stopped showing their products. It wasn't necessarily a woodworking trade show but was enough to pique my interest.

Those are simply beautiful Bruce. This is a gift that will be cherished forever by your grandchildren. I remember when I was 9 or 10 years old my grandparents gave me a Sheaffer ink pen and pencil set. Don't think ball points were invented then. I know longer have the pen or pencil, but I do still have the bottle of ink the came with it. I remember too, the pencil used thin lead. Now in my 80's and remember how excited I was. Jerry -

Here is my contribution to the Charlie Brown Christmas trees. I had a fun cutting these out. Cut them from 1/4 inch poplar. My sincere thanks to Barb Enders for leading me to Scrollercafe and more importantly how to navigate the web site. As an Air Force navigator one would think I would have no problem, my wife used to say I could find anyplace in the world, but couldn't get around in the city. Jerry

I am just beginning to cut some the small 3-D reindeer. Been wondering how to apply finish. You have given me an idea. Will probably drill a small hole in the bottom of the deer. If anybody out there has other ideas I'm open to other ideas. Thanks for sharing Jwee

Thanks to all of you for your responses. You can bet I will be trying each and every one of them. I began my programming career in the early 70's. At times some of the equipment had issues. One of the work arounds was cleaning the contacts with alcohol. Always had alcohol around. It's true, what goes around comes around. Also, what is old is new again. Thanks again for your responses. This past Christmas I gifted myself with a Pegas scroll saw. After about 8 months of usage, I experienced blade slippage from the lower blade chuck. I replaced both the thumb screw swivel and the set screw. All was good for a couple of months when the slippage started again. I tried making an adjustment to the set screw which seemed to help, but it is beginning again. I'm wondering if I should remove the lower chuck before making any adjustments or replacement to better see what I'm doing. I also wonder if I'm not placing the blade correctly in the lower chuck. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Note, I had a RBI scroll saw for about 25 years and never had an issue with blade slippage. Thank You, Jerry Walters
